I just came back to Canada last week from Europe and today I dropped by my AD to pick up my COSC certificate for my Navitimer and also inquire whats going on with my Superocean which got sent to the service centre in Toronto since it was loosing about 13 seconds per day. They told me it has to get overhauled at a cost of $450 + tax. Its only three years old. I told them to go ahead and do it but does this makes sense to you guys?

Is it 3 years old or have you owned it for 3 years?

If it was sitting at the ADs for a while before you bought it then it may well be due for a service.

I bought it new from the AD in Montreal in 2008 but have no clue how long it was there :?

I wore it non stop since I got it in 2008. I just thought it might need a service and not an overhaul.

Well, at least its going to come back looking like new and all shinny 8)

I happened to be reviewing the maintenance sheet today since I'm considering having mine serviced.

Notice that the maintenance prices have been removed for mechanical service. (And price increase)

Now:

Then (2009):

Remove the bracelet/strap and check the manufacture date stamped on the case between the 6 o'clock lugs.

I'm going to hold off for a bit and have it overhauled.
