Post subject:  A question regarding third party bracelets..
Hi guys,

I have an Aerospace with a brown leather strap, pin buckle and the 'copperhead bronze' face. It's starting to get warm and my wrist is starting to sweat a lot ( :oops: ) so I am looking into getting a new strap/bracelet that won't get ruined by sweat.

I considered one of the Breitling diver straps but they simply do not go with the face of the watch at all, brown and black is just a no-go area for me. So all that leaves is a bracelet; Breitling's titanium bracelet is pretty much out of the question due to the £750 price tag. So does anyone know of anywhere that sells good quality titanium bracelets that do not cost as much as the Breitling bracelet? Preferably in the UK, but if its not then it shouldn't be a problem.

I've scoured the internet and can find none that look anywhere near the same quality of the Breitling..

I don't think that you will find anything close to Breitling quality without paying Breitling prices. You'll probably need to look at a straight endlinks - the Breitling endlinks are curved to the case, but I doubt that any aftermarket bracelets will be able to match that.

Sorry, I don't have any specific suggestions, but I'm sure someone will.

That is what I feared, damned copperhead face not matching a black rubber strap! I would love the Breitling bracelet so much...but then I think I could get not one, but two entire Steinhart's for that much money. I know it's not a Ling but I'm sure you catch my drift...

I wouldnt go anywhere near an aftermarket bracelet. Just too junky and it wouldnt look good. If you are really particular about color, youre probably best off going with an aftermarket rubber strap like this one:

Id personally go with an OEM black rubber strap, but thats just me.

Thanks very much for the link but yeah I wouldn't want to put that on my watch. I went into an AD today and she couldn't let me see any of the straps and that is my biggest concern, the black strap would arrive, I put it on and then absolutely hate it on the watch, then I'd have to sell it and be out of pocket.. :(

A lot of ADs don't carry strap stock, but they should be able to get one from the distributor on approval.

I'm thinking the same thing the whole time I read this. I guess to each his own. If you're that picky, that probably wasn't the best dial color to purchase.

Another option is to go NATO. Very cheap with lots of colours to chose from. Comfortable to wear and easy to wash if it gets sweaty.

I would not have considered NATO about a year ago but I trued one and now I have a few. Easy to change the strap as well to a different one to change the look.

In terms of customising a watch I'm regretting the brown face completely, but on its brown strap I think it looks amazing!...Guess I will just have to save up for another one that has a lot of strap changing potential :mrgreen:

Living in the southeast US, I can relate.

Is your concern about wearing a leather strap in warm weather based on A) comfort? or B) not wanting to ruin your expensive Breitling strap?

If the answer is B, why not consider a throw-away strap? You can find some surprisingly good looking leather straps in the range of 40 USD or even less (check Panatime). Use one through the warm months, and then toss it when cool weather returns if it's excessively sweat damaged. (Treat the underside with a leather preservative, and you might even get two summers out of it.)

Not to sound like an irresponsible spendthrift, but it really does make more sense than ruining an expensive Breitling strap or wasting your money on an aftermarket bracelet that you won't be happy with.

I would also suggest the NATO strap. I have a black face aerospace & i just ordered a black/grey & a plain black strap. They're pretty cheap (around $20) and come in a wide range of colors for you to pick.

I would never go for a NATO strap on a Breitling. IMO it cheapens the watch. Not to mention that Breitling straps are much more comfortable, among other things. Then again, that's just me.

Not sure if you'd consider this, but how about a shark mesh bracelet?

There are some great aftermarket options, they look cool, have straight ends, and are great in the summer. As an omega collector as well, it's a good option on almost any seamster or speedy, but it's substantial enough to get away with on a breitling...Perhaps get the satin finish for the titanium
