The recent posting on the TwinSixty prompted me to go back to my books on some of the other less common Navis in recent years. Acted as a real reminder of a great looking watch - the Navitimer Airbourne, and then I found this.....

Now how to prevent the wife finding out........

I'm with Dr John on this one - lovely looking piece but just too darn small unfortunately. :(

I really wish Breitling would bring back some of these great movements but just case them up in something around the 46mm (min) mark.

I guess I'm used to dealing with smaller pieces with my interest in older watches, most of which are smaller.

I don't have small wrists by any means - pilot bracelet is one micro adjustment short of maximum for me and a deployant only just fits, but I don't mind the smaller watches on occasion.

I also find that Navis can carry it because virtually all of the diameter is face (or at least below the crystal).

Yeah there is a lot to be said for what you are used to, although for me I always found the standard size Navitimer a little small for me. I think a lot of it is due to the fine case and lugs when compared to the Aeromarine range. I tried a standard Navi on a few days before I bought my first Navi World, and even then it struck me as quite small. And that was long before I ventured into the SA/Bentley territory!

Personally I actually find it a right pain in the arse that I think they are too small as there are a load of models that I really like the look of!! For example, I'd definitely have a standard classic Navi in my collection if only it was a little bigger.
