So far I have only received one piece, which I sold within two days. I will get 2 more pieces, one of them, which will be delivered about december, is already sold. One I will probably receive middle of the next year.
No chance to get more of them, as the production of the case is very complicated and they can only make very few pieces.

Kurtada.. you need to upload the pics to an image hosting service to post them... such as photobucket!

Understand that the black Skyland is treated metal. Anybody some input on the possibility that the black will come off?

Thanks

Pedro

"The Avenger Skyland also comes in a special version made from blackened steel material achieved by an ultra-resistant carbon nitride-based treatment: a limited series nicknamed “Blacksteel”.

The black steel is not a surface coating. The base metal is treated before the production of the case. According to Breitling, this alloy is extremely durable and scratch resistant (I would not guarantee for that...) and very difficult and expensive to produce. They told me, that only half of the cases produced will be useable. Very high dropout rate.

If You remember the old Rado watches, where the basemetal was yellow (not coated). It seems to be a similar principal, where the alloy is colored before the production of the case.

IMHO I'd want some serious confirmation from Breitling that the metal is coloured all the way through (and not some PVD-like coating) before I parted with my hard-earned for one of these.

With the best will in the world, as we all know watches DO get scratched, and unless the metal is definitely black all the way through, I guarantee they WILL end up looking shabby in year or two.... and if so there is likely to be nothing you can do about it.

Dear All,

As already said in this lead I will receive my blacksteel in several weeks. One of the reasons I accepted the high(er) price was the fact that only 2000 are made. But what does this mean.......
They stopped production of the titanium Avenger this year, how many did you think they made....2000 pieces maybe?

Somebody an idea of how many Breitlings are sold of one model?

thanks,

Pedro

Seems odd to have a thread about the SA/SE without pictures - so here's mine...
