I just got my Pro 2 bracelet for my Steelfish, today.

Here are my impressions:

1) intergrates very well for the Steelfish and feels very good on the wrist. Although it took me 30 minute to take out 3 links (man those screws are small!)
2) easy to install, hard to remove, without a springbar tool :?
3) now I understand why the Pro 2 cost less than 1/2 what a Pilot bracelet cost. Not just in weight but build quality. That being said, the Pro2 is a great "everyday" bracelet and will be a nice change up between the Pro Diver rubber strap.

As to the Steelfish... rubber Diver Pro vs. Pro2 bracelet....

The bracelet instantly changed the overall looks of the watch. Less attention to the dial and more to the watch as a whole.

The Diver Pro strap makes the Black dial jump right off the watch but in a small way, lessens the overall appearance as a luxury watch. (if that makes sence)

Pictures sometime later.....

Scott

Funny that you should mention that the Diver Pro really brings out the black on the dial. My Steelfish has the steel PRO II, and I always think the black on the dial is not quite as sharp as what it should be, could almost be a dark blue in some lights. However, I have ordered an Ocean Racer strap for it, and am quite anxious to see how it will look. My thought was also that the black rubber will bring out the black on the dial more, and I think the circular cutouts will complement nicely the round hour markers on the dial. We shall see. I have waited over a month, being told the strap would take at least six weeks. I will also post pics when I get it.
I did look at the Steelfish on the Breitling website, with the Diver Pro, and also at photos other owners have posted, who have the Diver Pro, and you are quite right about the shaprness of the black dial.
Cheers,
Carl

I have the same impression when changing from a black rubber/leather strap to a bracelet. I find it useful to be able to create attention where I want it... :)

Get the springbar tool - it will indeed help you and also the risk if getting scratches decrease significantly. Maybe also a pair of small sized screwdrivers?

Good to hear your thoughts about the Pro II Scott, and I'd generally completely agree with your comment.s..... except I would disagree with the line -

Sure the Pro II has less parts across the width compared to a Pilot, but personally I've never felt that it is of a lower quality in terms of build, fit or finish in any way. I've got a Speed, a Pro II and a Navitimer bracelet, and apart from the number of component parts, I'd say they are identical. Just a personal observation.....

My comments are based on the weight of the band compaired to the pilot bracelet, positive click of the clasp (pilot seems tighter fit), and the clasp on the Pro 2 had some pretty sharp edges until I took a finger nail file to ease (or round slightly) the sharpness of the clasp edges.

The style, fit, functionality, and general appearance of the Pro2 are fantastic. My comments reflect my personal opinion on the overall difference. That being said for the price I would say the Pro 2 is a great buy and the Pilot... is slightly overpriced, but worth more than the Pro2 and not just because its polished.

If you had to do a little bit of work on the clasp then I can definitely see why you'd consider it to be of slightly lower quality, Scott! :) The two Pro II's I've owned have both been fine, so I guess that's why I don't see any real difference with the Pro II to other Breitling bracelets.

Anyway, I'm glad you're enjoying the change in look that it gives your Steelfish!

The rough clasp seems to be an issue only with the steelfish (or maybe all the brushed bracelets). I had the same problem with mine, which I sanded, but zero problems with the polished one I had.

Yeah the sharp edge deal on the clasp was an easy fix.

I wore it today, for the first full day and now sitting here I can say that its too darn tight!!! I will have to tweak the size tonight as there is a Pro2 imprint on the ole wrist after a days worth of use!!!
