Post subject: | My New Twin Sixty and a Couple of Questions |
Here are some quick pics of my new Breitling Twin Sixty or TwinSixty . . . I am not sure which is the right way to spell it. I really like this watch a lot. It was made in limited quantities back in 1998 and 1999. It appeals to me for that reason. It is 41.5mm by about 15mm . . . just a perfect size for me. The sapphire crystal is domed and gives a really liquid look from an angle. Not sure how to explain it. I love the bluish tint that comes from the AR coating. Very cool. This baby has nine hands….yep…nine hands…count them! The four subdials are terrific. There is one for the second hand, one for totalizing 60 minutes of chronograph movement, one for twenty four hour (military) counting of the time and one for a calendar. The red tipped chrono hand covers up another hand that totalizes sixty minutes of chronograph – thus the twin sixty name. The steel markers pop in the sun as do the subdials. Love the little red accents…. Nothing not to like about this one from my perspective. Fairly rare, limited production, sturdy, great features and looks….I would like to be able to find the Twin Sixty Two versions as well….three sub dials with blue, silver (white) and black versions…. Does anyone know if this model was made in any different colors (I have heard there is a blue dial Twin Sixty)? If I were to try and get one of each of the Twin Sixty and Twin Sixty 2 models, would that be a total of four: black and white Twin Sixty Blue, White and Black Twin Sixty Two? Are there others. Did they make any Twin Sixty with a display back? Two tone? And last, is the proper spelling TwinSixty or Twin Sixty? Any strap recommendations? Not a watch you will see every day. Stunning on the wrist…..Very cool! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Beautiful! First I have seen or heard of the model. It's definitely a keeper, a classic for years to come. It is great to have a model like that, that is no more, and you know that it will not be changed. Cheers, Carl |

Twin Sixty's are lovely watches and they always make me hanker for Breitling to return to making some of the more complicated movements that they used to produce. Yours looks to be in fabulous condition, Phather Phil. And great pics too! Welcome aboard. |
