I purchased my Chronomat more or less a year ago as a second hand watch from my local AD. It was serviced in 08 but I believe this service to be a "in house" service. Talking to the sale person I was lead to believe that their in house watchmaker is a authorized service person for breilting and any warranty or service issues are mostly dealt with in house. Could this be correct and is there any way to check if this is true.
In the last few months I have notices that my Chronomat (B13352) has fallen out of COCS and is currently running at -9 secs p/d. When I picked it up from them first in was about -2 for 6 months and then started losing time from then on to the current loss of -9.
So because it was clearly out of COSC and it was under their two year warranty I got from them I decided to call it time, excuse the pun , and hand it in to them.
The sale person stated that it probably only need to regulated and they they would take it in and monitor it and then act accordingly.
Now my questions are, is their "in house" service a "proper" Breitling service and if the watch ever has to go directly back to Breitling is it going to be dismissed even though any work done was in an AD? Is it normal for a watch to run perfect (-2) for 6 months and then lose out to -9 over the next 6 months. Have I any thing to worry in that it was newly serviced, sat unused for two years until i picked it up.
the watch mostly sit on the winder and really does not get the wrist time it deserves but it is time checked regularly and manually wound from time to time.
I guess I am looking for opinions and hopefully reasurance!...

Their service would have been a simple 'oil change' and yes, they can do that as long as their watchmaker has Breitling training and the proper equipment. For the watch to start losing time after a few months and then slowly get worse I highly doubt that a regulation is going to solve the problem for long - it will just reset the error and it will then start getting worse again. A regulation is really only going to address a consistent error.

If I had to guess I would suggest that there is a problem with the oiling in one of the jewel holes in the running train, but it could be any number of service related issues.

Thank you for the prompt reply. They are going to monitor it for a week so I guess I will update this post then and just keep a eye on it after that. One good thing it that they instantly recognized that it was unacceptable for it to to that much out of time...
