Forgive me if this has been answered on previous post. I recently purchased a Skyland here on the forum for my father. It came with the rubber diver strap. My father works as a wheelchair tech and many of his clients have a fatal allergy to latex. Does anyone know if the strap is latex or poly? Thanks! ![]() |

The simple answer is I don't know for 100% certainty, and for something as serious as potentially fatal latex allergies, I'd personally want confirmation straight from the horse's mouth - in other words DIRECT from Breitling. |

Thanks! ![]() The Breitling rubber is caotchouc, which technically is a natural rubber latex. However, all polymer dispersions in water are technically latex, including many rubbers. I would need more info on the latex allergy to say if it's safe or not, but if you would have a general latex allergy you couldn't be near any soft plastics or polymers. Normally with a latex allergy (type I or IV) it is just the natural rubber latex you mean and not the other plastics. In case it's a type I allergy, your father shouldn't wear the strap when close to his clients. If it's a type IV, wearing it would be ok as long as it doesn't come in contact with his clients. |

Silicone is probably going to be a better choice than natural rubber. Or better yet, get a leather strap. |

Contacted Breitling USA and they told me it contained no latex. Now I'm confused. ![]() |

It clearly says cautchouc on the strap, and caoutchuk is derived from natural rubber latex. I wouldn't risk it if I was your dad. |

Suggest you go leather to be safe, but here's a link that may help; http://www.latexallergyresources.org/ |
