Polished Blackbird Bracelet vs polished Pilot Bracelet?

I've tried to find out if the two are visually any different. I see they are different part numbers. How different are they?

I've been told by George at Govberg that, "I just spoke with our Breitling rep and confirmed that there is not a difference between the two bracelets. They just have different part numbers, because of how they are connected to the case."

Does anyone else have a take on this??

So my situation is, want to buy the Polished BlackEye Blue Blackbird on the polished bracelet. My local AD only has the BEB polished version on a black leather strap. But they will obviously put any bracelet in stock on it.....so is it a viable option to have them just put a polished Pilot Bracelet on it and I'm out the door versus them having to order the whole BEB watch in?

Thanks!

The Blackbird bracelet has faceted links; the standard Pilot doesn't. I would think the endpieces are the same, since the BB case is the same as the Chronomat Evo, but I'm not certain of that. The endpieces on the 01 Pilot are different.

The current BB watch head is the same geometry as the current Evo, and as such the pilot would fit.

I've seen the brushed BB bracelet and I've seen the extra facets. So you're saying the polished BB bracelet is in fact different then from the normal Pilot Bracelet.

I wonder why the B-ling Rep George talked to said otherwise?

Yep, that's what I'm saying. This video shows the facets on the polished Blackbird Pilot quite clearly.

Good question; I have no idea.

As for whether you should just go for a standard Pilot over a BB Pilot, you should do what you're most comfortable with. However, if it were me, and I wanted a BB on Pilot, I wouldn't settle for anything less than a BB Pilot. The facets in the links are one of the defining features of the BB, which obviously would be missing if you went with a standard Pilot. How much it would affect resale would depend on how much a buyer would expect a Blackbird on Pilot to have the facets; I suspect a number of buyers do.

This is a very good point regarding resale value. I guess when I get it...I'll bring it to the local AD and visually compare it to the Pilot and see for myself.

Thanks for everyone's input...i'll post pics when I get it!

As Jackson said the BB faceted Bracelet is rather special. Personally I would go with that, it is made for the BB.

And do remember, a real BB is supposed to be black dialed and semi brushed.

I personally agree with that, but it really is a matter of taste. In the end, a person should get what he likes.

It would be interesting if we could hook up a taste meter to people and see whether or not they have any. I wonder what Ling Man's reading would be.
