Post subject:  Help needed on finding where a serial number is on a Colt

Hi
I call upon the vast knowledge here gents, I have a Breitling Colt auto chronograph with the caseback engraved A13035.1 with a very worn what looks like 6674 underneath it. I cannot find any further numbers on it or between the lugs?
Where abouts should it be, and how many digits would it be.
Many thanks in advance
Rob

It should be below the reference number and could be anything from 4 to 7 digits.

Does that mean the worn 6674 number under the A13035.1 is the serial number?
I imagined it should be longer as this only allows for 9999 units under that model.
Thanks for your help

After 1978 serial numbers are random so you can't apply that logic to it. A four digit serial is unusual (obviously because of volumes), but is correct. Impossible to know whether yours was originally longer and part of it has rubbed off but if you go to an AD they can contact Breitling and confirm that the serial matches the model.
