Hi,

Visited two ADs in the City today on my Legende LE quest. Happily it's still available and I am now in the negotiating process.

It has also occurred to me that the Chronomat probably is not long for the Breitling lineup. I've heard two stories-one has the Chronomat unavailable by mid April here in the States, the other that there is no definitive timetable and dealers can take customer orders) at least through the end of '11.

Anybody know the deal? I am considering purchasing a romans/blue face/rose gold bezel Chronomat with my Legende and can get a pretty good package deal; but cash flow sort of recommends I wait on the Chrono if it's still going to be available in a few months.

Thanks

The Chronomat is apparently being discontinued, replaced by the B01.

Thanks. What I'm looking for is an 'you must order by...' drop dead date.

Maybe it doesn't matter-either way the Swiss are getting my $.

I suspect that we are already down to remaining stock as Breitling SA would have shifted production to post Basel models. No idea how long stock will remain with distributors / Breitling SA, it will depend on orders. BUSA may only find out when Breitling SA tells them that they can't fulfill orders.

Think this would make for higher demand of the chronomats being that the B01's are much more expensive?

Pretty much all the Galactics are going...which is a good thing, IMO. More lamentable are the discontinuations of the Blackbird, as well as the Steelfish and the Chrono Superocean. We're losing some seriously great models, and I'm not at all convinced that what Breitling is leaving in their place make up for the loss.

Losing those three is a crime! One more nail I think...

Isn't Breitling going to discontinue the Colt-line too, resp. replacing it?

Generally - according to my experience - Breitling use to phase-out very silently, suddenly a model might not be available anymore. This was the case when I was too late with the old Superocean two or three years ago.

i agree at 100%, i don't see reasons to discontinue the Chronomat, and Blackbird!

it's understable that they discontinue Galactic, a falle down from Breitling (with this buck rogers bezel helped that...) but the flagship of brand like the Chronomat... it's like Rolex would discontinue the Daytona... come on Breitiling, this is not good.

that soon, then the B01 bezel cannot be far behind (crossing fingers, pinkie swear). Maybe the guys in Switzerland really are reading this board.

:D

technically the chronomat isnt being dioscontinued its just been updated and replaced it just happens in this instance that they ran it in paralell with the old model which doesnt normally happen.

I think what they are trying to do is use the least possible ETA movements to use more in-house movement and that is why they discontinued many models.
For in the future when they have more movements (with other complications like big date) replace them all and bring back old models.
I would love to see an in-house movement without chrono to replace the seawolf's cal17.
