The cockpit was on a short list for my next Breitling purchase. Now that Breitling has remodeled the cockpit, I assume the current model that I like will be discontinued. Unfortunately I can not swing buying the watch now before the price increase. Just bought the Steefish and the wife would divorce me. She told me to sell some of my wine if I want to buy another watch. So here are my questions:

1. Does anybody know for sure that my assumption is correct (current model being discontinued)?

2. How will this affect price on the current model? Will it be affected by the May price increase? I'm assuming this happens every year when models are discontinued. Do prices tend to go up or do they go down in order to get rid of old inventory to make room for the new?

3. Easy one...Slate grey or Black dial...I really like both a lot and my Steelfish has a Blue dial.

Thanks

I believe, given that the changes are really a 'facelift' they will be a replacement to the current style. I would also guess that the prices will go up with everything else, but that as we get closer to, or after the new ones being available you will be able to get more generous discounts from an AD.

As for colour - well, mine's black and I love it, Admin's is grey and he loves it - it all comes down to choice :)

Yeah I love my Slate Grey dial.. has this "depth" to it that I don't see that often, but the Black is great too of course.

I agree with Roff in that the original dial will probably be discontinued afterwards.. and I also do not like the new dial all that much... the "pillow" look is not as appealing to me, but its okay. I wouldn't kick it out of my bed so-to-speak. ;)

The slate dial is sweet on the Pilot bracelet. The finish has an amazing amount of depth to it...

Well decided on the Slate. I really liked the Black too, but I agree the Slate just has added "depth". The Slate looks almost black in certain light at different angles. Seems to be a bit darker than some of the other slate dialed watches. Hopefully they will still be around by the time I save up enough.

Good choice

as far as colour goes, I've always preferred red with a nice chocolaty/berry nose

actually, start with good stuff and when reached 1 bottle, doesn't matter whats in it as long as its around 14% ethanol!
