tick-tock! LOL, all kidding aside.

Breitling styles have a huge range. I'm interested in what some of the people on the board interpret from individual models. For instance, an Emergency has a much different presence than a Montbrillant Datora. So, lay it on folks.

I don't understand the question. What does the watch itself say or what does the watch say about the person?

I personally buy watches to fulfill a specific function (or functions), so I don't know how to answer how to interpret a specific model other than I assume it exists to fulfill a function - be it for aesthetic or functional reasons - or both.

As to what a watch says about a person, I don't think about it. I think the way people act speaks for themselves and the watch has nothing to do with the personality. I know lovely, well to do people who wear $100 watches and I know total jerks who can't pay their bills who own a Rolex.

My Breitlings say I appreciate beauty , craftsmanship and self indulgence . As I sit in my study typing this , I gaze at the Breitling on my wrist , in this instance my Cockpit , and I am still captured by its beauty . It is a pleasure that is mine personally and I don't need anyone to share it with .

Yea, as I reflected on the post, my intentions aren't being put into words very well. I don't want to get into those pretentious "What does my watch say about me?" type on thread.

I think maybe a better way to put this thread is, how does a _____ Breitling fit? I just find myself getting a much different feeling clipping on a Steelfish than I do when I put on my Emergency. Both are daily wearers, just I feel they are worn differently. I am trying to figure out why that is, and see if others can identify.

Any help?

I'm starting to understand this better now I believe...

My CE fits me perfectly for an everyday wearer... Jeans or a suit, beach to the board room

My World fits me perfectly for occasional wearer when I feel slightly more sophisticated in the way I dress. Suit or even dressing up with jeans. For now, I don't mind slapping it on though when I'm heading out the door regardless just because it's new! :D

Have a good weekend ya'll!

Yeah, exactly the types of response I was going for. I think this stems from the fact that I've had an Emergency, SOSF, and Avenger Seawolf Chrono, all pretty sporty casual pieces. But, I just picked up a new Chronomat, and while I love it, I wasn't expecting it to be THAT different than the others.

My thoughts are similar to mrcheatie. My BlackBird is my "everyday" watch. I feel like I can wear it with a suit every day to work and it looks just as good with a t-shirt and jeans on the weekend. It's basically whatever I want it to be. I also love the way it looks and find its functionality very useful as well. However, because it is my "everyday" watch and I want it to remain in presentable shape, I'll wear my Omega to the beach and the Panerai typically only comes out for special occasions or when I have a very nice suit on - and special dates with the wife ;)

I feel the same way about my Chrono Superocean. Being one of Breitling's lower-priced models, I think it speaks both to practicality and quality - it's a great all-around watch.

My SA talks to me every day, just by being there, it reminds me just how long it took to achieve my goal buying it......if i take it off to do any work, like on the car, in the garden, or decorating, i feel as though i have had a bereavement, my wrist feels different, none of my other watches fills the gap. After an SA nothing else will do. :lingsrock:
