I have located a great Colt II SQ to buy but I'm a little worried over the size. Would it be too small for a 7 3/4 inch wrist?

It's a matter of taste of course, but I would think it may be a bit small. Trying it on would be the answer. I have a 8" wrist, yet my 40mm Rolex GMTIIc wears exceptionally well. :D

[[ I've sent this in private message too, but I thought it would be useful for others too to read ]]

I have a very thin wrist (only 6.2 inches), and I'm very happy with the Colt II Quartz. I own a blue dial version since 2009. I bought it on a Pro II bracelet, brand new, from an AD. Since then I also put it on a Hirsch natural rubber strap, and it looks and wears just cool that way either.

As for your wrist size, it's a tough question to be honest. First of all, the Colt II looks smaller than its size, due to the case shape, the thickness of the bezel, and the smallness of the dial. Even if the Colt is 41mm, the 40mm Rolex Submariner Ceramic (the new 2010 all-steel model) looks and wears bigger. Quite frankly, if I had a 7-inch or bigger wrist, I'd forget the Colt range, and opt for either the SuperOcean (the previous model, 42mm), the current SuperOcean II (also 42mm), the SuperOcean Steelfish (44mm), the Avenger Seawolf (45mm), or -- if quartz is mandatory -- the Avenger Seawolf Chrono (45mm).

With your wrist size you can pretty much pull off any watch size, so I recommend you to visit an AD, and try on basically every single Breitling that you fancy on the spot. You'll see which one you like the most -- maybe it will be the new Chronospace or something that you wouldn't think of. In case you fancy the Colt II Quartz design the most, then probably start with trying on the SuperOcean Steelfish, which looks quite similar to the Colt II Quartz.
