Still thinking about what to buy, but I would like to pose this question: I like the superocean heritage, but really like the chrono hand on the like of the Chrono Evo etc with the logo on it. Is it possible to have the seconds hand swapped for one of those hands when buying one new, and would a modification like that (even if done at source) cause a lower resale price in 10, 20 etc years? |

I don't think an AD would do that for you - modifying the model would be totally unauthorized by Breitling. Of course, you could probably get a non-AD to do it, but how he's supposed to get the spare seconds hand... Even if he manage you'll probably always be accused of trying to sell a fake or a frankenwatch the day you want to pass it on. Conclusion - don't do it. |

It will cost a fair amount of money, and it definitely will lower the value, not to mention void your warranty. |

That sounds like a shame then. There always seems to be something about a watch that holds me back. This is one of those things. Although if done at an AD, with full papers, I would think it wouldn't matter about it being considered a rep if trying to sell it. Problem right now, although there are a few higher priced watches I would like, being realistic I think a lower priced watch would be all I am going to be able to buy in the near future. |

I know what you mean about there sometimes being just one little thing that puts you off a certain watch. For example, I really like the Montbrillant Legende and reckon it's a great looking piece.... BUT I'm just not keen on the gold hands with the silver hour markers on the steel version. I think they should either all be gold, or all be silver, not a mixture of both. For me that is enough for me not to buy it. The TT version has all gold markers and hands, but I don't like TT bracelets, so that counts that one out too. In terms of modifications to watches, IMHO just stick to bezel changes and that's it. |

Hello Phaedo, I also know exactly what you mean. I've never understood why Breitling does not put the Breitling logo on the bottom of all their second hand indicators. It really adds that extra touch. I think it would work just fine on all the AeroMarine series. Good luck with that one. |
