My return from Tucson this afternoon took me by the exit for my Breitling AD. I popped in if for no other reason than I'm convinced they brew their coffee with coca leaves. And I will never be the same - beaming from across the store I saw it. Drawing nearer my eyes began to burn. I turned away, ran out the door and stared at the sun. Imbued with optic relief I ventured back inside. "Walk towards it, man, don't look directly at it!" And there it was - worse than any picture, more horrid than any gruesome image - the RED RUBBER BEZEL Skyracer Raven!!!

Where to begin? The color is even brighter than the publicity pics. Picture a Red Velvet cake. That icing you know will taste good but also leave your tongue red. That color!!! As my AD attempted to justify the Beast, she held it closer. OMG - it had 2 small red sub dial hands and they are not even close to the color of the bezel. It was...the most ridiculous watch I've seen. Only $5700!!!

I remain hopeful the red circles I'm still seeing wherever I look will abate. Perhaps another 45 minutes of staring at the sun will do.

You know what the best news is Sharky?? That watch will be there just waiting for you to come in and give her some attention for quite some time to come...she will be patient, and wear you down a little each and every trip that you make. She isn't going anywhere...so she afford to take it slow with you. One day months from now you will stroll into your AD...take a look at her...and wonder why you ever hated her...that is the day that she will come home with you.

OK...not likely that will happen, but it would be funny...and given your recent indecision about watches...not entirely impossible!! :poke:

I don't know what was funnier, your OP or this one. I'm really glad I didn't see one yet, I'm hoping that I never will.
