Playing devil's advocate...

1998 Chrono Colt - movement = ETA 251.262 List price (in 1998) = £760

2008 Time Factors PRECISTA 89 (PRS-17C) - movement = ETA 251.262 List price = £185

For those unfamiliar with Time Factors watches, they are hand made by Eddie who hosts TZ-UK. http://www.tz-uk.com I have no reason to think his QC is any less than Breitling.

You all know I love Breitlings but the fact is that it is cheaper to buy a new Time Factors ETA 251.262 powered watch than it is to have the same movement serviced by Breitling.

Discuss.

I dont think anybody here will contest the fact that there are cheaper watches with similar movements. If that company ever becomes as well known as Breitling, I can assure you that thhose watches will end up costing Breitling money.

Nevertheless, id be willing to bet the quality (while maybe great) is not up to B standards. And the strap sucks.

 I'm sure you are just playing devil's advocate here Sharky, but I'll say it anyway!

I think we would all admit on here that buying Breitling watches and the like is not just about buying something that tells the time. If that's all we wanted we'd all be posting on a Timex or Casio website, waxing lyrical about how cheaply we can buy things to tell the time!

PS - And RJRJRJ is right - that Precista strap SUCKS! :)

I don't see anything to discuss. Driver and RJRJRJ are correct the strap is nasty  Don't se a lot in the case either. I am sure the movement is good--but that don't make it that good  Breitling has the name and the quality and that is that. I did enjoy looking at the piece :)

Eddie is a sound dealer with nice stuff but we are comparing apples with frogs here, totally different

similarly does putting the same engine in a VW Phaeton make it a Bentley....no, not at all.......yes cheaper but not as good!

Thought I might have wound a few more of you up :P

Excellent watch for the money but lacking the style of a Breitling IMHO.
