Hello

Great website with some incredible pictures! I am looking to purchase a beautiful Breitling - either the B-1 or an Aerospace Advantage, I just can't decide. Regardless, what is the best and cheapest way to purchase a Breitling? Do they ever go on sale? There are links off this website to purchase them online, but according to the official Breitling site nearly all watches sold on-line are fake! Help! I would love to own one, but also don't want to spend more than required.

Best to buy from an AD esp if it concerns warranty. You can get anywhere from 23-30% off MSRP on Breitlings.

If its your first, better to be with an AD.

I am located in Norway, and the Breitlings here are far more expensive than in the US. For an example, the Breitling Chrono Superocean costs approx. 4800 USD. So I am looking for a respectable place to buy a Breitling. I would love to purchase one from an US authorized retailer, but it seems like they refuse to ship internationally.

I have read about authenticwatches.com, and it seems like a okey grey-import-dealer. If the watches is really authentic, it is worth the risk of no warranty when it costs 50% less than in Norway.

Have anyone here purchased and checked the authenticy of the watch from authenticwatches.com?

The problem with authenticwatches.com is that their Breitlings have had the serial numbers removed to protect the Ad's that sold them. This protects the ADs from Breitling but it also voids ever having the watch serviced by Breitling.

I would try sourcing one on time zone. Check references of course and use paypal if you can and you can get a great piece. Hope this helps.

That's good info, Frederick. I did not know their serial numbers were removed, as I know someone who purchased one on ebay from authentic watches and the serial number was intact.

I purchased my Evolution from Authenticwatches.com and the serial # was intact.

Unless the watch says serial numbers or some such then yes the watch has been decoded. Ask before you order is my advise.

It looks like everyone is correct. The authenticwatches.com website states:

"Certain timepieces are decoded, unless the product description states "With Serial Numbers." This is common practice with most authorized dealers who sell to online companies, and is done in order to protect their Authorized Dealership license from the manufacturer."

With the Breitlings that I was looking at (B-1 and Aero Advantage) it does NOT state "with serial numbers". So it sounds like the serial numbers have been removed. I am assuming that is voids the original Breitling warranty? Has anyone had any experience with the warranty included with authenticwatches.com?

Also, I visited/spoke with 3 different ADs - none of them had a B-1 in stock....

So if I'm following this correctly, ADs will sell some of their stock to non-ADs and that's how you might get an authentic Breitling online despite what the official Brietling website says?

As a fellow newbie who does not yet own one but would very much like to, anything I can save off MSRP is very welcome, but at the same time I'm afraid of finding I've paid quite a bit of money on what might turn out to be a fake.

Any and all guidance in making sure I'm not ripped off is appreciated!
