Yes I am using the search.

I get the difference between "pointed" and not pointed for bracelet/strap. Lots of good detailed pix. I am still no clear on the diameter. Best I could find was a guess that it was 1.5 for the bracelet and 1.6 for straps. Anyone know if that is correct?

These look good for bracelet to me...can somebody say yea or nay to make me feel better?

Can't find any 1.6 dia. on that site so guess I will keep looking. I know my AD could probably help out...but it is just so d@mn far for me to drive I'd rather pay/order on line and save my time in a car fighting traffic versus getting them for free.

I am already ordering a few other things and would just like to have some spares handy.

What about double flanged ones...any concern :?:

Good luck finding an answer! I havent been able to track down the size, and i've also had no luck getting the answer from Breitling.

The only way of finding out will be by busting out my trusty measuring stick!

Well they were only $2.50 for 10 so I got some of each above in my original post. I can't believe with all the ubergeeks around here nobody has a set of calipers or some other measuring device capable of finding out the diameter of various spring bars.

:?: What are the rest of you doing for spring bars :?: Do you all simply get what the AD gives you when you buy a new strap/bracelet? I figured there must be some of you that replace them from time to time if you are frequently changing bands/straps and in turn buying some. Maybe it is not that big of a deal if you just have the right length are you good to go and don't worry about the ends or diameter? :? If the diameter did not matter why do sellers stock so many different diameters?

Had a couple back and forth emails about spring bars with George. It probably slipped his mind. I don't really want to pester him for such a small item. If I make it up to see him I will bring it up again, but since I was buying a few tools online I figured why not spend a few bucks and have several on had.

I can't believe with the wealth of knowledge here that there is not some friendless nerd sitting at home cataloging each and every Breitling component by year, serial number, size, variance and exception to the rule in some endless spread sheet. :geek: That is exactly how the home brewing and bicycle community works and for a lazy guy like me it is pure Interwebs gold :D

Honestly, I was expecting a post back with check these 20 previous posts dumb @ss :P

I don't think any one has an answer on this one. I have a suggestion, and I'm truly not trying to be a smart a**, but you can buy calipers relatively cheap. I have a set that I use for ammo reloading and measuring case diameters but I don't have any extra unused springbars laying about at the moment to help you out. You might want to pick up a set and measure.

Oh I plan to do that some day, but was rather amazed nobody else already had. Seems like it would be a frequent question and would have an answer by now. Perhaps I am worrying about it too much since this is all sort of new to me. I never had a watch that I even thought of changing the band on. Now with my new watch and 4 bands I am changing it every couple of days. Maybe the novelty will wear off and I'll stick with one look eventually. If that is the norm for most mabye having extra spring bars is a non-issue.

I guess the real solution is to have multiple watches all with different bands then the changing of the bands would be not so frequent.

Interesting side note. The bracelet is really hard to get the 6767-f in and pull back the spring bar. The leather straps are pretty easy and the pro diver II is crazy easy. The rubber has so much grip that is compress one side with just finger pressure. It jumped out so easily the other day I thought maybe I did not have it seated correctly. Is that normal?

Post subject:  From an article of mine on another forum which I moderate...

The correct Breitling part numbers are included in the text. You can ask your AD to order them and mail them to you if too far to drive. A really good AD will likely have some in stock and do that for you...
Best,
Ron

Swapping straps and bracelets is a great way to increase enjoyment of your Breitling watch. The following information will hopefully encourage the reader to try the procedure for him/herself... :-!

These are original Breitling strap and bracelet springbars. Sorry for the lack of detail but if you look close you can see a conical point on the bracelet springbar. This is to help guide it into the inner interhorn holes while CAREFULLY attaching the bracelet. Notice it also has a chamfered shoulder on the outside diameter of the barrel. This is to help position the springbar tool [I](Please do NOT use a small screwdriver as a springbar tool unless you like scratches and gouges on the case and interhorns.)
onto the springbar shaft for insertion into the interhorn hole. (Note: the Bergeon 6111 has removable tips for both types of springbars and is the perfect tool IMO. Link to a source is here: http://lonestarwatches.com/accessories.htm? ) The strap springbar doesn't need this chamfered shoulder because the springbar tool bit is more of a notched "shovel" as opposed to a sharp "fork" for the bracelet springbar tool bit. You can use the bracelet springbar for strap attachment but it is unwise to use strap springbars for bracelet installation because of the likelihood of slippage and scratching. Please don't trust a jeweler or anyone who does'nt know the difference between springbars. EDIT: Recent information shows the part number to be 520.XX for the strap springbar and part number 520.XX.1 for the bracelet springbar. The ""XX" is the interhorn width (22=22mm such as on the standard Navitimer). I hope this helps clear up some confusion for those of you who would like to swap between straps and bracelets. Two or more watches for the price of one! :-) To illustrate the difference...

Every Breitling wtih its original bracelet has the springbars as shown on the right in those two pics. Every strap I have (7 at this time and 7 bracelets as well) has the springbars illustrated on the left. In addition to all of the 22mm springbars I have I also have packages of 15mm, 16mm, and 18mm springbars for my family's Breitlings. All of them are exactly the same for bracelet and exactly the same for strap. Their watches all were originally equipped with "Pilot" bracelets and all configurations concurr when straps were ordered and/or added. I have a Breitling Authorized Service center here which will corroborate this information because that is where I received and validated it. That is also where I was shown how to properly adjust a Breitling bracelet by "biasing" the links to the North side of the watch which ergonomically balances the deployant clasp correctly. Here are examples of correctly balanced Navitimer and Fighter bracelets...

Is anyone confident that the "Swiss Made 1.8 mm Thick Double Flange 24 mm Spring Bar" from Ofrei would work equally as well for my SA?
