Guys

My first real post and I thought that I would use this to canvass opinions and thoughts on a possible new purchase.

For many moons, I have been keen on acquiring a watch from the navitimer range. Of the current models I am keen, not only on the Navitmer itself, but also the Montbrillant Datora and the Navitimer World.

I have spent happy a couple of hours at the local ADs trying on various models. I love the look (probably my favourite design) of the standard Montbrillant, but find it a little to small for my current tastes. The Navitimer World has a very classy dial in my view. Size wise, it seemed okay in diameter that seemed a little bit on the thick side and I would be concerned that I would find that it had too much presence on the wrist. This seems mirrored by comments on the forum e.g by phil_78 – I see that he has parted with his World and so I just missed out there. Strangely, I found that a Bentley 6.75 actually seemed smaller when worn than the Navi World.

The 4 dealers I visited did not have a Montbrillant Datora. I think that this may be the ideal size look that I am going for. FYI, I do like the watches with the same coloured subdials as the main dial.

I also tried a normal Navitimer and this seemed very slightly small but otherwise pretty good.

I would therefore be keen for any thoughts on these watches and also other alternatives that may now have been discontinued, such as the Heritage.

Thanks Nick

I do like the Heritage because it is a bit different from the rest. The version with an all blue dial/slide rule bezel looks the bees, and I prefer the subs to be at 3, 6 & 9. The down side of the subs position being the logo/name is bisected by the parked chrono seconds hand. I think this was sold as a bracelet only model, which is fine by me.

Bracelet on the heritage is integrated (like the Legende) so cannot be put on a strap unless you get a custom made one.
