Quick question, does Breitling charge for shipping to and from the service center if they have to perform warranty on a watch. Just wanted to throw this question out. I have taken my seawolf down to my AD here in town because it is running 8 seconds fast a day. The AD states they will perform a regulation however the customer has to pay for the shipping both ways. It is roughly $50 each way. I can see the customer paying shipping there, but is there a reason Breitling wouldn't pay for shipping to return the watch? Maybe this is the way it is, just wanted to ask! |

When I had my watched serviced under warranty, my AD sent it and I got it back with no shipping charges. |

Ive sent mine through an AD that I didnt buy from and they charged me $25 to ship it there. Nothing to ship it back. Most ADs will eat the cost themselves if you bought the watch from them. AFAIK, Breitling pays to have the watch shipped back. |

I kinda thought Breitling would pay at least to ship back ![]() |

There is no such thing as Breitling in Canada, it's Grigoros which also owns La Swiss. If the AD won't ship to Toronto free of charge then send it yourself to them - they are on Hayden Street in Toronto. I always collect personally, but I don't believe that they will charge you to ship back (or more accurately it will be included in the service cost). Worst case scenario I am sure that they can have it included in a shipment to your local AD. |

I once had to send a Montblanc fountain pen in under warranty because it was leaking ink. The AD where I bought it charged me shipping, claiming it was because Montblanc wouldn't cover the shipping themselves. I just can't understand this mindset, whether it's from a pen company or a watch company. If I have to send an item in under warranty, it's because (presumably) there is a defect in the workmanship; but for that defect, I wouldn't have to send it in. Shipping should always be covered as a part of the warranty, in my opinion. Why should I have to incur any expense as a result of a company's lapse in quality control? It's bad enough I'm having to do without the product for weeks on end while the company fixes it. |

I think you may be able to request a refund from Breitling (I think I remember reading that somewhere). I recently send a golf club to Ping for a warranty repair and it cost me like $10 to ship it to them. When I called I asked if the shipping was covered and they said I can request a reimbursement from them. I didnt bother though since it seemed like more of a hassle than it was worth. |

I had a Ping club repaired under warranty a few years ago (the medallion came off the back). I called them and they sent me a prepaid shipping box, repaired the club, and sent it back. All at no cost to me. LL |

I just remembered that I had the same experience with a Thinkpad. They overnighted me a shipping box that I received on a Thursday, they got my computer on Friday and made the repair same day, and then overnighted it back to me that same day with DHL with Saturday delivery. |

When my Sonicare went bad, they actually shipped me a new one before I returned the old one, allowing me to use the box the new one came in to return the old one. Of course it came with a pre-paid shipping label. I was pretty impressed with that. |

I send my Montbrillant Olympus for a warranty repair a few months ago. My AD charged me a total of $75 for insurance. they send the piece with UPS to Breitiling/Horologium in Mexico City. I don't know but I think that for customer satisfaction they should bear the cost of sending them a piece for "warranty". Just my 2 cents. |

To me it is not a big deal. I would expect to pay the shipping there, but them pay the shipping back. I will find out within the next day or 2. I have dropped the seawolf down with my AD. They are talking to breitling to see how much extra they would charge me for refinishing the watch. Since it is there, i my as well get it done while it is there. |
