Post subject: | Seawolf running fast-Covered under man. Warranty? |
Hey guys. I am new to the forum and have bought a stainless steel seawolf off another member here. It has manufactures warranty for another year. I am in Canada and the watch is actually from Canada also. I have box and all the paperwork that came with the watch. My question is. It seems that the watch is running fast. I notice after a couple weeks of having it in my winder and wearing it the odd day, it is seems to be a couple minutes fast. Is this normal, or will manufactures warranty service it within the 2 year warranty? I have had a automatic tag heure before and I never did have to adjust the time on it even after months. Considering the watch is certified, should i have to do this? Any info would be great. I do have a dealer here in Winnipeg mb, so i think they would probably ship it away. One last question. I was reading the manufacture warranty booklet and it states that the warranty is only valid if the sales person's signature is on the booklet. Mine has not been signed, but it does have the date and the stamp of the place it was bought. Oh, and of course i have the certificate of it being certified. Thankyou and any info would be great. Here is a pic of my wolf! ![]() |

It's certified to between -4 / +6 seconds per day. If it's averaging more than +6, you said two weeks so that would be 84 seconds (14 x 6) then Breitling can regulate it for you. If your AD has a watchmaker on staff they can do it there. |

Missed that bit (paragraphs are wonderful inventions), but yes that is the case. |

Great! I was hoping that didn't void my warranty in anyway. I am gonna time it over the next week before i take it into the dealer. If the dealer has to send it away, i'm gonna see if i can pay extra to get the whole watch refinished. It is in very good shape but i wouldn't mind the bracelet brushed again and the case all polished up. I have been the the website and I believe they charge $400.00 for a service on the seawolf which includes the refinishing of the watch. If they performed the regulating under warranty, maybe they would just charge me for the refinishing? |

my seawolf, that is a couple months old is also runnig out of cosc specs, +8 seconds a day. i thought it might calm down but has stayed the same since day one. the only problem i have is, i dont want to be with out the watch lol. so i decided to order a new superocean abyss and once i get it i will take the seawolf in for regulating. steve |

I dont remember what it is but I think around $150. |

If you're in the US, go to time.gov and sync your watch to the clock on that site. Go back later in the day or couple days later and see it the watch still matches the minutes and number of seconds. Obviously, it might be off some time. |

If he were to take it to a non-authorized watchmaker and pay for the regulation out of pocket, would that void the warranty? |

Just checked the seawolf. It is out around 3-4 seconds(closer to 4), since 12:50 today. I am guessing when i check it at lunch it is gonna be around +8 seconds. Have to wait and see. |

Even if the warranty book isn't stamped/dated, BUSA will do warranty work with a copy of the receipt. Or even a note from the AD when purchased. I've "heard" that even without either, since the warranty is punched and printed with the AD by BUSA, they will contact the AD for verification. My experience is the ADs are not "validating" the warranty books unless you ask. One AD said the stamping is so outdated they don't even have their stamp anymore. It should not be a problem. |

You need to let it go through 24 hour cycles rather than extrapolate intra-day numbers. It may gain on your wrist and lose on the nightstand and you need to establish the 24 hour 'average' to offset variations for position, temperature, etc. |
