Post subject:  Time change Rule 8pm to 3am - Where in Chronomat 01 Manual?

I was talking to a friend of mine about the 8pm-3am rule (which I learned from here), and went to show him in the manual, but I couldn't find it anywhere in there. Any Chronomat 01 owners out there know where it is in the manual?

Though I have the Limited Edition Chronomat, the manual seems to be the same as for the standard 01.
Could it be that this rule doesn't apply to the B01 in-house movement?

I am not interested in testing the validity of the rule, but was just curious about where the rule is documented.

Thanks for reading this post.
Pete

B01 cal. doesn't have this rule.

Correct - instant date change so it's not an issue in the caliber 01.

So just to be clear...if this rule doesn't apply, does it mean that I can change the date and time (either forward or backward) whenever I want?

Again, I am not interested in doing anything in this time frame, just wanted to know all the facts.

Thanks
Pete

Yes.

Always try and wind time forward rather than backwards, but there is no 'danger zone' with this movement.

Do NOT change the date by moving the crown to position 1 (the postion for changing the date without moving the minute or hour hands) which is the "quick date change." The gears are preparing for the date change and/or completing the date change between 8PM and 3AM. Forcing a date change by using the quick date while all this is occurring in the movement will cause the date wheel gear to bind. If you force it enough, you can break a tooth off the gear. This is bad. Very, very, bad. :nono:

Also do not move the time (hour/minute hands from postion 2 on the crown) in reverse during 8-3. This is also very bad. :nono:

Both :nono: 's lead to a trip to the shop for an expensive and lengthy repair not covered by warranty. Which leads to the 3rd very, very bad thing - $$ out of your pocket. :nono:

See, if only technical and manual writers used smilies, life would be more comprehensible. :)

That's applicable to any watch with B01 cal.
