hi ,quick question for you experts. the second hand on my Chronospace, recently purchased..is off to the side of most markings when ticking..about a hair line , and seem to be spot on ticking between the 6 and the 9 o'clock... shall i be worries about some used/damaged gear? or is there anything i can do to line it up. I tried to reset the second hand at the 12 o'clock but it won't be spot on. you can hardly notice it, but i thought..at that price i am expecting something close to perfect. do you guys think i should just wait for service, or just bring it back to the dealer...unfortunately i bought it when i was away, that is a 5h flight...i did not buy it at my local dealer..because he did not have that watch..but i think i can go to him with the international warranty right? sorry to bore you. i will try to post a picture..tomorrow thanks. |

Guessing without pictures, but it sounds just like the play that has to exist in the running train to prevent the movement from binding. |

If it's in the motion works, it could be normal backlash. Try this: Turn the watch upside down, that is with 12 at the bottom and 6 at the top, See if the seconds hand is now "spot on" between 12 and 3. Then do the same thing with 9 at the top; and again with 3 at the top. If the "spot on" range moves with the position of the watch, there is little that can be done about it. Although the seconds hand is supposed to be balanced, the disparity is caused by the weight of the hand taking up the slack in the gearing at a certain hand position. |

thank you for you reply you are spot on. unfortunately for the photos, all i have to take photo with is my i phone..which is not that great..my mini camera just won't focus..so it would be a waste of time..trust me I would love to put so nice pic on my new acquisition Anyway I have tried what onewatchnut has suggested..and you are right the quadrant that shows the hand spot on rotate as i rotate the watch..it seems that the worse quadrant for out of balance is the top right quadrant..the second hand is up to 1/2 a second out at one time. So i guess like you said not much can be done about it.. thank you very much..good day |

now that i have slept over it...i think this is crazy. i have a $500 citizen , and it does not have this problem...I cannot believe a $ 5000 watch would do that. I am pretty disappointed really to say the least. next time i am at the dealer I will bring it to his/her attention. but for $ 5000 i think i have the right to be P.O |

well I would expect that from an Automatic...but not from a Quartz..especially with a" Chronometre Certifie" label. When I know it can be avoided/fixed..i.e i have other quartz that don't have this problem..that's all. |
