Hello all...Happy New Year! I purchased my first Breitling a couple of years ago (Avenger Skyland), and now I am ready for Breitling #2! :)

Unfortunately, the AD I purchased my first one from (in Baton Rouge, LA) is no longer an AD. The only remaining AD in Louisiana (according to the Breitling site) is Friend & Company in New Orleans.

Just curious if anyone on this board has had any experience(s) with them?

In addition, I'd love to hear your suggestions on which model I should go with for #2. I've kind of had my eye on the Superocean (yellow, with a black OR)...but definitely trust everyone here for "guidance" as to what would make a good second purchase.

Thanks for your help!

Andy

As for a recommendation for a second, thats all you. you need to find the one that calls out to you and triggers the emotional connection that only the right watch can have, sometimes you can get it by looking, but often you need to try it on. take a field trip to an ad somewhere and get some wrist time! if you want help deciding between 2 ir 3 that you have narrowed it down to, we can surely help, buy you need to do the first step. remember, shopping for them is the most fun part!

It's true, it'a an emotional and personal response, maybe that's why we spend so much for a watch. Not to highjack but I just saw a Rolex Deepsea that blew my mind and I normally don't like rolex watches but this one......emotional.......9g. Ouch. Anyway back to u, pick a couple and let us know.

Thanks, guys! Good idea! I should point out that I'm looking for something a little more "less formal" than my AS. Something I can wear more on weekends/beach/etc.

Will check out a few models, and let you know what I've narrowed it down to.

Thanks again!

Andy

Blackbird Brushed or the Black-eyed-gray B01 with brushed bezel. Either with pilot bracelet AND ocean racer.

Thanks, Rebel...when I go to the Breitling website, under the "Made to Measure"...I cannot find the B01...is this the same thing as the "Chronomat 01"? (Sorry, I'm still getting used to all of the models!)

Thanks for your help!

Yes. If you are looking for more casual than the Skyland, as you suggested, then the SO II or even the Steelfish are worth checking out on your wrist. Good luck!

Thanks, Sharkman...the two you mentioned are actually the two I printed out today...the SO II (yellow) w/ Black OR strap and the Steelfish (blue)...could I get away with a blue leather strap on this one? Or would that be too much? :)

Looking at your signature, these appear to be two good choices :) What straps do you have for these?

Thanks...I love this forum!

Andy

The blue dial SF is a classic - nearly as beefy as your Skyland - and looks and wears great on the bracelet and Ocean Racer or DPII on deployment (my options). And sure a blue strap would work.

The yellow abyss SO II is nice on a DP II. Oddly enough, I had the AD include the Pro II they had it on originally just for the heck of it and it is the way I wear it almost all the time. Didn't think I would like it on the bracelet even after I saw it in the display. I was wrong.

Have fun with it.

The blue Steelfish was my Breitling number 2. It looks best on the dark brown calf.

I'd go with the brushed Steelfish as a good alternate to your polished Skyland. I'd keep it on one of the rubber straps though.
