The EOL has started flashing on my Emergency.

Two questions, is my first battery change and service free? (even if I bought it 6 months old from a previous owner, who had it from new and never needed its first service)

and secondly, how long to I have before it actually needs to go to get its new batteries, it only started flashing today.

First service is free. You should have a few weeks.
