Something (Both George and I thought) interesting I noticed while at the AD a few weeks ago. I had both a Chronomat Evolution in one hand and the Navi World (w/ bracelet) in the other. You could tell that the Chronomat weighted more just by feel. Since the NW is larger I thought for sure it would weigh more. Even George was saying since the movement is more complex due to the GMT and it requires more parts why wouldn't it weigh more? Anyone have an answer for this?

Because the Windrider cases / bezels are heavier construction and thicker for WR. |

I don't have a Navi, but the ones I've tried on (including the very complicated Montbrillant Olympus) were better in both respects. |

As the owner of both of these models, both on bracelets, I can say that I do NOT notice the difference on the wrist. I will say, though, that the Evo's bracelet seems heavier than the World. Either one feels light as a feather after you've own/worn a Super Avenger. Now that watch was a beast. It's weight was one of the primary reasons I sold mine. I just couldn't get on with the height and overall weight on that watch. Heck it even fit me, with my 7.5" wrist! Strapping the Evo or World on leather really lightens up the load. |

I don't have one, but the Chronomat (Evo, as it was called) is 120g. The SA (which I do have) weighs in at 153g and I honestly don't notice mine on my wrist. In fact, the same is true for my Lum Tec M25 : that bad-boy weighs in at 160g...... on a strap! I don't even realise I have it on. (If I could manage to get the bracelet to fit it , the M25 would weigh in at 320g!  I guess I'll never know if that would be too much or not, given that the damn bracelet doesn't fit).

Maybe it's less a matter of weight than the way it fits. Honestly, I'm not sure. The Chronomat has a protruding, rounded caseback so that it sits up high above my wrist, and the case edges do not fit flush. Perhaps if it sat better, the weight wouldn't be a problem, but given the lousy fit, the weight caused it to shift a lot, and it was quite uncomfortable; and that was after adjusting the bracelet for bias. It's a bummer, because otherwise I liked the watch. I also love the Blackbird, but since it has the same case as the Chronomat, I won't get it, because I know I'd have the same problem. Strap versus bracelet is a good point. That Montbrillant Olympus I tried on was on a croco strap, which obviously made it lighter, but it still sat more flush on my wrist than the Chronomat, and seemed a better fit overall. A smaller diameter didn't hurt, either, I'm sure. |

I enjoy my watch having some weight to it. I just thought since the NW was larger I would Feel a difference that's all?
