Post subject:  pre ownedd montbrillant question

hi All,

i'm about to embark on my first purchase and it'll be a used one, i have a small wrist so the montbrillant seems to suit me more... the question i have is for the description the seller has put on his website... should it concern me...

"Comes with original box and all papers as well as a stamped Authorized Dealer warranty that is NOT DATED and does not have a NAME WRITTEN ON IT."

Thanks in advance

John

That is considered a bonus to some in the used market as the warranty period has not begun, as it is not dated, and I believe he is implying he never registered the watch when it was new, meaning you could do so yourself.

In the US it could be a problem.

ADs often left papers undated so that the warranty period could be artificially extended if needed. Breitling understandably don't like that practice and in the US there have been cases where BUSA refused to deal with a watch that had open papers.

Post pics in the replica forum and you will have answers as to it's authenticity in no time.

the seller name is "abouttime" on the WUS forum, seems to be an active member, perhaps even a sponsor, so perhaps that helps towards his reputation? thanks

I don't know what Breitling Australia's policy is regarding open papers. You want a full set of papers - manual, warranty, COSC certificate.

Generally, undated papers means that the docs are stamped/signed by the AD, but the date of purchase is left blank. Sending it to Breitling like that will probably not be a good idea, as assumption is that you will fill in the date yourself before sending it in.
