Post subject:  What is a good deal on this watch?

Dear Breitling Connoisseurs,

I am looking at getting a used Breitling Montbrillant Edition. Like this one http://www.breitlingsource.com/watch_de ... r_141.html in steel with leather strap. It does not have box or papers and the seller is open for offers. The watch is said to be 4 years old. Has some wear swirling, no dents or deep scratches.

How much would be a good deal for it? Is $3.3k ok? The seller wants $3.5k

Thanks!

Assuming that it's calf strap and tang buckle the list price 4 years ago was only about $3,800, even on croc with deployant list was only $4,250.

I think he's way out on a watch that may only be a year or so away from needing a service and doesn't have papers.

The advice is always to look at Chrono24 and completed eBay listings for pricing, and a quick look at Chrono24 shows this one for $3,475, and that's dealer asking price for a new watch with box and papers - http://www.chrono24.com/en/breitling/mo ... ltIndex=11

Yes, and I am not interested in that watch:)

See, the one I am talking about is the Montbrillant Edition A48330, it is Handwound and was discontinued in 2008. It's really rare and I think rather interesting because it's the only handwound Breitling produced in the last 10 years to my knowledge.

Oops, missed that - sorry. That was a pricier model, but his price is still high. The one on Chrono24 has an asking price of about $3,800, but that's on the Navitimer bracelet - http://www.chrono24.com/en/breitling/mo ... Findex.htm
