Ok, I really don't want to ask this, but here goes.

I'm debating new shoes for my pair of silver dial Lings. I'm thinking I might do a brown leather on deployant for the Colt Auto and a black croco on deployant for the Chronomat.

Here they are side by side to show how different the silver is between them.

Keep the following in mind, we are pretty casual in the office now, no suits. T-shirts & jeans on the regular. I'm not sure how I feel about a croco on jeans etc. Might just be better off to keep the bracelets for now...

Can't believe I'm asking about my watch strap clashing with jeans...

A croco clashing with jeans? Not in a million years. But brown or "gold" on the chronomat. I've had mine on a brown croco and it's pretty awesome - even with beat up jeans.

I didn't want to get brown for both of them Sharky. Figured if one of them should be on black, it would be the Chronomat. Thoughts?

I'd say go with a calf strap, I love the one I have and it's a hell of a lot cheaper than the croco, personally I think the price that Breitling wants for their croco straps is ridiculous, but that's just me. The calf I have for my BB is just outstanding and it goes great with jeans, to me croco straps are more formal whereas calf straps look more casual.

I'd to the AD and have them "try on" the combos you're interested in. Personally, I don't like the way the black croc looks, at least in pics. It's a little too shiny. Brown crocs look a little better, imo, (better with jeans) especially as they age and get a nice patina on them. The calfs look awesome though.

This is off topic, but I can't believe how much bigger the chromomat looks compared to the colt. It's only 2.6m bigger, but it makes a huge difference. I was thinking of getting the colt but now I'm not sure. I'm glad I saw them side by side. Thanks.

Peter,

The Chronomat is slightly closer to the camera due to the angle of my arm making it look a bit larger, but I am telling you that 2mm is noticeable when they both have light dials.

The croco doesn't have to be shiny at all, I was planning on giving it a little bit of a matte finish with some gentle finishing modification though I am not sure how to best do it till I have one to see. Would that persuade you at all?

To everyone else...

I want to look into calf but am worried it will look a little more beat up from regular wear and tear. I believe the croco would hold up better. I could be wrong. Thoughts?

On the Brown issue, Brown or Gold? I would think classic colour combos would dictate the brown on the Colt as it is almost a warm creamy silver and I am sure brown will look awesome on it. I could do Brown Calf on the Colt. I bet that would look sweet. Is the calf is worth having?

That leaves the Chrono. Gold croco? The dial being darker dictates what, a darker strap? It's a little more grey as you can tell, I thought that would lend itself to black. Man, this is when I need a womans advice I think. I am terrible at doing this kind of creative type stuff in my head. I can't picture it really.

Sorry Geoff, Blue is not for me but thank you for the input. That kind of thinking outside the box could come up with a great result.

Need more input pleaseee!

Sharky don't you have some good examples you could show us in that like 30 Ling collection you have! :nana:

Forget the straps. Ice out the bracelets. You know you want to. And since the office is more casual now, get a diamond-studded white gold tooth to match.
