In here Breitlings are portrayed as "instruments" rather than "watches"......... Although we all must have some attraction to the brand and all models,a Breitling is never portrayed as a "dress watch"..... Which Breitling would be the one model to be labeled as a "dress watch" from the whole range? A piece to wear to a special event, where dress code is nessessary, which Breitling would fit the bill? ![]() |

New Transocean comes pretty close to a classic dress watch IMO. The pic of the Rose gold w/ white/silver dial on on Brown Croc is classic IMO. |

I think the term "Dress Watch" could also be a bit subjective as it really depends on the individual's personal tastes. By adding different straps on various models it can enhance a piece to such a degree as the meet an individual's need of being their "Dress Watch". To that end there are many models that would fit that bill for a number of watch enthusiasts IMO. Justin's suggestion is a really fine piece that IMO would fit the bill nicely as a dress watch. |

This may cause dissent but i don't think a dress watch should be a chronograph; it's blending the formal with the sporting. So i would be inclined to say that the Galactic is the one in the current range. I'd probably go vintage; maybe TransOcean or cadet. Greg |

Is this dressy enough for you? ![]() Now, in case anybody thinks I don't know how to class a joint up, keep in mind that when I drive up to the valet, I'll be stepping out of this. ![]() Any questions, bitches? |

I think the Flying B and the Flying B Chronograph (both on croco) are very nice for dress occasions IMO. |

OK, in all seriousness, how dressy is dressy? Are we talking black tie, or business suit? I wore my Chronomat with suits and to my eye it looked great - although I couldn't wear it with French cuffs, because the cuffs couldn't fit over it. Since I don't have the Chronomat anymore, and I want something a bit smaller but with a similar look, I've been eyeing the Cockpit, specifically because it treads the line between casual and dressy. (So does the Galactic, but I'm not sold on the styling.) And although it's not a Breitling, I happen to think a Rolex GMT-Master IIc, and even a Submariner, can pass as reasonably dressy in a number of circumstances. Maybe I'm just buying into Rolex's marketing, but I think both watches look great with a suit. ![]() |

Here's what I've been wearing as a dress watch lately: ![]() On a black deployant croc strap and fits under a sleeve easily (can't say that about my Seawolf). LL |

I think of the 2009 TT Cockpit as a dress watch in the Breitling line-up. |
