Thought i would shar my last project with u.

I needed a case opener for a airwolf model. This cost around 100$ + shipping. So i decided to make my own. I mede one first that didn't work at all. Then i made the one in the picture and it work perfectly. It took around 2,5h to make them both so it was well worth it. In future maybe i'll make a new one that fits even better but until then this will work fine

Nice but have you tried one of those "Screwball" type friction openers? I have one and while I have yet to try it on a Breitling, it has opened many other screw on casebacks with no trouble and not a scratch.

I have a Jaxa style opener, but the rubber ball works well, as does carpet tape.

Pretty Cool.... but out of curiosity why would you want to open the case back? Doesn't it void the warranty by doing it yourself.

To change battery. There is no warranty, i bought the watch from a pawnshop. And it's a very easy to take of the case with my tool. Takes 5min to change battery.

I havn't tried the ball, but iv'e been thinking of getting one soon.

Any rubber ball that can be 'squished' works, you don't need to buy one of the 'special' ones from eBay, Otto Frei, etc. Mine was actually designed to be a pet toy.

I actually did this same thing. I was getting my dog a toy and bought 2 (one for me, one for him). I tried it and it works like a charm. Good ol' friction.

yes but the problem then, in my opinion, is to close the case stronger under 'water resistant' rules.. and for that i think you need a professional open/close case.

As I said, I also have a Jaxa.

For me, the vast majority of the pieces that I open are vintage anyway so water resistance is not really an issue.

obviously i was not speaking about you but in general... to a guy that use only balls..

Grips well, leaves no residue.

I'd never use the "ball technique" on a nice watch. Too much risk. I have no business opening the back of a watch that costs more than 100 bucks.
