Post subject:  Mesh Bracelet - NEED ADVICE

Greetings to all the Breithers!

I have a question about a mesh bracelet. I have a Montbrillant Olympus on a black leather, I also have a Navi bracelet for it coming, bit after seeing the upcoming Transocean 01 with a mesh, I really wanted one for my Oly. But the ones that Breitling produces now are for the Heritage and they are 24-20 and 20-18 I believe, whereas I need a 22-20.

Does anybody have an idea if Breitling has a mesh my size? If not (which I don't have much hope for anyway) which Mesh would you recommend to be good with my Oly? I realize that it won't say breitling on it, but maybe there are some famous third party bracelets? Like Hirsch or Rios 1931 for leather?

Thanks in advance!

The new Transocean has 22mm lugs and is available on mesh, so Breitling are indeed now making a 22mm mesh. If they aren't available as accessories yet, they will be soon. Speak to your AD about ordering one.

Thanks! But my local AD is a bunch of idiots! I could never come to an agreement with them on prices because after all their fake discounts watches cost more than MRSP! You want an example? IWC Portuguese 7 days power reserve they want to sell for $12500 when the MRSP on it is 10400!

Anyway, I am afraid I won't be able to get the 22 Breitling mesh any time soon :(

Plenty of friendly ADs available through this forum in both North America and the UK. As soon as the bracelet starts becoming available with the Transocean you'll be able to order - 2 to 3 months at hte outside I would guess.

Are you dealing in US dollars? $10,400 USD is about what they retail for in the US, so its possible that the prices are higher over there. In any event, if they are cheating you like that, id suggest giving IWC or Breitling a call and letting them know. It sucks for you to have only one AD nearby and not be able to shop there.

Most manufacturers write into their AD agreements that the retailer isn't allowed to sell for more than list, so it's definitely worth taking up with the company.

Thanks, that's a good idea. I will drop IWC a note.

As for the mesh, what do you think about the NOS vintage JB Champion ones? On ebay there are a couple of the mesh bracelets that are 22mm at lugs and the sellers say they were used with the cosmonaut back in the 60s. They are priced at about 299 usd but seller accepts offers. What do you think, are those worth an investment?

I think I would wait a few weeks and order a Breitling one.

Thanks to everyone!

I guess I will have to train my patience and hope that the new Breitling 22 Mesh is not going to take forever to be released:)
