Hello, Hope this is not a dumb question....I just got my first breitling crosswind. Can anyone tell me if the hands and markers glow in the dark. Mine do not and thought it was real strange that they don't. Thanks! |

They certainly should. Where did you buy from/can you post pics of the watch with it's papers? |

Hello AL, thanks for replying. Here is the funny thing. before I posted this I was holding it up to the light for about a min. then go to a dark room and nothing. When I got up this morning it was glowing in my colset. Now, I put it back in a dark room and it not. I brought this watch off a friend. Who did not ware it much, it's in mint condition not a scratch on it. Mabe it has not seen sunlight for a long time, I got it a few days ago and not really ware it yet. I will post picks. Also, I did not ask him but should it take it to get serviced or looked at by a AD? I really don't know whats going on inside. Every so offten I feel a vibration in the watch, is that just the movment? THanks! Ben |

the vibration for that movement is normal; do a search here for "Valjoux wobble" |

There are many threads here about lume and you have to be able to make a distinction between what the lume is doing and what your eyes can see - your eyes take a while to adjust when going from light to dark. |

Thank You, I don't know all the technical terms yet also, but this is a great forum to learn. Thanks |

Some lume applications are more intense than others. I found Breitling's lume on the Chronomat to be middle of the road. I wouldn't be able to perceive it unless it were fully charged, and then I was in near-total darkness and my eyes were adjusted. Conversely, the lume on my Omega Seamaster is intense; it only takes a few seconds to charge, and I can see it glow as soon as I get out of direct light - no darkness or eye adjustment required. |

OK, the "Valjoux wobble" that I feel, is that a indication that it's real or can a replic do that as well? Thanks, |

First Time - if you're worried about it being fake, I echo Al's advice: post some pictures of the watch and paperwork, and let us give you our opinions. Also, do you know where your friend got it? The ultimate reassurance would be to send it into Breitling for a nominal fee, and they can confirm whether or not it's genuine. In the meantime, showing it to us would at least allow you to get some more immediate feedback. |

My friend has a jewlery store/ pawn shop. Many times watches come in and go. He buys and sell a lot of preown Rolex, etc,. Brought this one for himself never really worn it much, he is a big rolex guy. He was going to sell it and I saw it out I aked him to sell to me. He said it's real and works fine. I just don't think it had been worn for a while. It is in very good shape, looks mint even the polished bracelet is like new. |
