Hi, Driver. I wouldn't mind the Airwolf's compass bezel if it was incremented like the Emergency's bezel. The "cutoff" six on the dial doesn't really bother me so much but the very first Airwolf's "radial" dial was somewhat disconcerting. The current version (especially the beautiful white dial) is much nicer IMO. I'm with Ron %100. I do love them both and have owned a gorgeous black dial new dial Wolf, but went back to the B-1. JMHO.

Hi Ron, I totally agree about the original sunburst dial on the Airwolf : for me, the later pin-stripe version is much nicer, but the best versions are (IMO) the logo LE versions as they have a flat dial (like the B1) and the cut-off 6 is replaced with a baton.

I'm still not sure why I didn't get on with my B1. It was NOS about 6 months or so after they discontinued it, and I was really looking forward to getting it, but for some reason it just didn't speak to me on my wrist. In contrast, I've tried Airwolfs on a few times and they just seem to work better for me.

I understand exactly what you mean. A piece can look great in the display case or even on someone else and when you see it on your wrist instead it just doesn't cut the mustard.

Yeah, I know it is likely just being stupidly fickle but it really does boil down to how it "speaks to you" when you're wearing it and you're pretty lucky if that positive effect continues.

Nowadays I'm making sure I'm absolutely sold a piece (by trying it on multiple times) before I take the plunge as I'm intending for all my future purchases to be keepers. :thumbsup:

While out shopping yesterday i came across a breitling airwolf,such a good deal and i also liked the chunkiness and the dial colour of the watch. This purchase put me in a position of owning 2 breitling quartz as i have a B1 as well. So the B1 is currently on sales corner. Heres a quick picture of them both. Which one would you prefer? Colin

Hello, I prefer the B1 (model number A78363 I hope). This blue color is perfect. It's an historical model, a superquartz model. I also got one with a black dial. Regards, Challenger_fr

I know the B1 is considered the more "heritage" piece, but after owning one for all of about 2 days a few years ago, I can safely safe that I personally much prefer the Airwolf. I hate the Raven version incidentally, but I actually really like the non-raven varient. If I was going to own an SQ, then it would be the Airwolf hands down.

Interestingly, I think in my case the major contributing factor for a watch to have that continuing positive effect is the kit with which the watch is fitted. By that I mean something unique such as a UTC module, a Bund style strap or a beautiful OEM croco. Just something different from the norm that helps personalize the piece makes it "speak" a little easier. An example is my slate dial EVO with the factory diamond bezel.. I may have sold it already if I had left it on the original Pilot bracelet or croco strap. With the addition of the UTC or even putting the piece on a Bund with OEM calf, the watch is telling me it belongs on my wrist because it is very "elegantly different" and that appeals to me, hence, the watch is "speaking"... I've ended up quite quickly selling pieces that I initially adored, for no discernible reason, other than I feel out of love with it - it's an odd thing, and hard to explain to "non-watch" folk!
