Did a little recon today as I search for my first Breitling. Went to Kenjo and tourneau in NYC, and passed the soon to be opened Breitling boutique. I took that as a sign that I was on the right path.

Anyway...

I tried on several models at Kenjo and was quoted $6500 for the blackbird black steel LE and $5700 for a polished steel blackbird on rubber (no discussion of a discount). I also tried on the LE Seawolf, a super avenger and a navitimer, but those weren't really for me.

Walked a few blocks to torneau where they didnt have the blackbird blacksteel LE, but said it was "in the 6's." then they directed me to the Breitling for bentley display.

I'm still doing some comparison shopping, but what you guys think of those quotes at Kenjo? How does on bring up getting a discount? Buying a watch in the tourist trap part of NYC seems like it would be even tougher to get a discount.

Just politely tell them what you expect. If discounts in your area are a problem, contact members jnelson or Fear here.

I dont know what the price of a blacksteel is, but it doesnt sound like there was any discount on the regular blackbird. You just have to tell them what you are looking to pay. Tourneau is the worst place to actually buy a watch, so efforts there may be futile. Most stores mention the discount on their own, but if they dont you can say something like "whats the best you can do on this one?"... If they dont give you a discount just leave and dont waste your time with them. And if youve already chosen the model you want, you can contact the members suggested by Sharkman for a nice price.

FYI:
15% is a standard discount. Just about anywhere will give you that. Some places, thats the best youll get.
20% is better, but dont be surprised if they dont want to give it to you.
25% is very good and may be around the best you can find on some of the more inexpensive models with less profit margins.
30% is about as good as it gets on stainless steel models. This is much tougher to find these days.

Hi all, first time poster here. My beloved Navitimer Heritage is halfway through a trip to the UK service centre and I'm in the market for a second Navi to keep it company when it comes back. Got a beauty coming up to Leeds this week for me to take a look at in the flesh - ss and gold case, black dial with batons, tan leather strap. 21% discount offered from 3 local dealers but that seems to be the limit - seems pretty good to me so if the watch is half as nice on my wrist as it looks on the configurator I'll be pulling the trigger.

You may find what you are loking for in the Diamond district. They have both new and used. Although, they are not AD's.

If you're willing to travel out to Queens, there is an AD out in Bay Terrance Queens - Alica Jewelers - they were more than willing to discount

Its usually worth it for the tri-state guys to drive out of state and have it shipped back to their home to save sales tax.
