Hi there,

Wanted to see if any members could point me in the right direction. I'm looking to get a Breitling for my 30th birthday, which is in Janurary. This will be my first real foray into timepieces and so I want something special.

I really like the Blackbird Blacksteel and the Avenger Seawolf Chrono LE, but I'm not sure if either of these are the right watch to start with. Ideally, I'd like something with a rubber strap and classic look. Looking to spend up to $5k usd.

Any insight you guys could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Usual advise. Visit an AD. Try everything on and one (or more likely more than one!) will talk to you.

If you want THE classic Breitling, there's only one. A Navitimer. And DEFINITELY not on rubber

Id say non black steel Blackbird. Black face on rubber. Great watch and get a leather strep for it and you can dress it up. You can get both the watch and both straps fur under your 5k budget.
