To satisfy my curiosity... In regards to the magnetic pushpiece system, will the magnets degrade over time? Will they lose their magnetic properties? Can they accidentally be de-magnetized? Thanks in advance for any responses. |

I think the quartz movement would be shot and unable to be replaced way before the pushpieces magnets gave up. So in conclusion, I wouldn't worry about it. |

I guess that the very nature of magnets means that they could theoretically become demagnetised, but I suspect that it is a theoretical problem rather than a practical one - I have never heard of anything remotely like that. |

Sorry to jump in but can someone explain the point of the magnetic push pieces and do all Breitlings have them? I'm guessing they're for the Chrono models? |

Well only chronos have pushers   The magnetic ones are for the M1 and Avenger Seawolf Chrono and allow the pushers to be used underwater. Traditional mechanical pushers (as used in other Breitling chronos) can't be used under water because the action can suck water into the case. |

The only one that has them is the Seawolf Chrono. They use them so the chrono buttons can be used underwater, regular pushpieces can't be used under water, well they shouldn't if you want your watch to work. That's the reason that the Seawolf Chrono is quartz, so the magnets don't screw with the movement. I'm sure someone can give you a more technical response though. I was hoping tha would be the answer... I'm in the market for a Seawolf chrono right now so being able to operate it underwater has just made it even more desirable   Thanks for the quick responses... no more thread-jacking from me

The M1 is a very worthy alternative mate. Much more bang for your buck so to speak. Andrew micheals ( site sponsor) has some new ones, despite them being a discontinued model for a couple if years, for a VERY attractive price. Plus I've just part exed mine with them which is MINT, so that will be a very good price. Half the cost of a new seawolf I imagine. |

I hadn't seen your post here but funnily enough have just e-mailed that jewellers asking about a few watches. I'm from Bury so nice to see another Breitling fan from Manchester on here The M1 looks like a really nice watch but I missed one for £820 on eBay the other day because my computer messed up... so now I've got it in my head that if I go for an M1, it will have to be CHEAP lol. The only thing I dislike about the M1 is the matte finish but I've just been reading that Titanium can be polished so I'd probably get this done if I buy one. I love the way Breitlings look with a polished case. I have a 22mm Pro Diver strap here... just need a watch for it now

I'm From Wilmslow mate, so not too far away. You should ring them see what sort if deal they'll do an a second hand one, it'll most likely be mine and be very well looked after. Was on a titanium pro2 bracelet. Cant recommend the m1 enough, I just didn't wear it as much as I should have. |

Wasn't too impressed with their sales technique though and stood around waiting for the best part of 15mins before I even got seen to. I'll try and find out if your M1 is available tomorrow. I might be able to get there this weekend... Shame I didn't know your M1 was for sale before you traded in
