I am looking for a ladies two tone watch, researched here and asked questions at AD. Getting two different answers.
One says solid, hence higher prices. Can't adverstise 18k unless it is.
The other and a couple of links I found somewhere says rolled (higher quality than plated, but 20 microns equals expensive plating). Even talked about engraving and polishing cautions.
Is the gold on Breitlings bands, and the watch, solid or rolled.

If that is the case, would rather go with SS vs have an expensive watch that looks like my fake Tag after years of year. At least I appropriately for this to happen.
Thanks, its tough making a decision since I do wear gold jewelery and would prefer this look.
Thanks for your help and advise.

The answer is actually both. To use the Cockpit Lady as an example, the rider tabs are solid, and I believe that the crown is also solid. The bracelet is rolled, but don't be too concerned that it is going to wear off like electroplating will.

Rolled gold, as you note, is 20 microns, but in addition to that it is a very different technology than electroplating. Rolled gold is created by laminating a sheet of 18K gold to a base metal and then rolling it out, very different to the electroplating that deals with particles of gold rather than sheets. Electroplating also uses much softer 24K gold.
