Post subject:  Deployment vs. Tang

When I receive my Navi World in the next couple months I have always intended in getting the Brown and Black Crocs with deployment.

My question is, just how comfortable is the deployment though vs. the tang. I have the regular leather straps with tang on my chronomat and LOVE the way it feels. However, When I look at the deployment and how it is very flat on the bottom, does that become annoying? Or will it break in fine?

Basically I would like some opinions on how the Tang feels vs. the Deployment for a croc strap on a Navi World.

Thanks!

Here is my SO on black leather strap and deployment buckle. For me, I live by the deployment buckle. I ordered my new Navi with croco and deployment buckle too. Won't have it any other way. I find its much more comfy and you don't ruin the leather each time you put it on.

I am for deployment all the way: it's more comfortable, more secure and the life of the strap is much longer than on Tang. Price would be the only disadvantage but it is largely compensated by the advantages IMO.

I am also a fan of deployment buckle.

My daily wearer B-1 is on black leather with deployant. It's comfortable to put the the watch on and take it off. It also prolongs the life of the leather strap.

I bought couple watches on tang buckle, but I never wear the straps on tang.

Deployant for me as well. I have a black calf and a black croc on deployants and a burgandy tang croc that I put an aftermarket deployant on. I find them more comfortable, easier to put on, and the strap will last much longer on a deployant.

Deployant all the way and the cost is somewhat offset over time by the extended life of the straps.

I agree with the others...deployment all the way. The other big advantage is you can get an "exact" fit with a deployment...where you can't with a tang buckle. I like to wear my watches pretty tight, and I always seem to be just a little off from the perfect fit with a tang buckle.

My evo came on a tang.. Because of the weight it was constantly sliding over on my wrist. The deployant fixed the problem because it's a bit heavier and it's a flat structure that can't spin past your wrist bone.

Honestly for the large watches they should only offer it with the deployant.

I will never touch a tang again. However, some do not get on with them (different wrist geometry)

Huh, I never thought of that. My Bird is on a calf strap with a tang buckle and I never could think of a good enough reason to spend the ridiculous, in my mind at least, amount of money for the deployment buckle, but I have noticed that my watch tends to turn while on my wrist and it bugs the crap outta me. Maybe I need to get a black calf with deployment now. Hmmm....

And even though it's all been said I'll just stick my vote in here for the deployant as well.

Infinitely adjustable, prolongs the life of the strap, looks more classy..... what's not to like.

Just to be different, tang for me, own both find it the most comfortable but appreciate it's not the best option when it comes to longevity.
