Hello everyone. I would like to share with you my first experience with a Breitling watch: three days after my wife give a Skyracer to me, the wings of the logo on the dial came unstuck and went to hook up with the seconds hand stopping the watch. The clock was purchased at a well known jewelry and was a genuine Breitling. I informed to this jewelry, which immediately started the paperwork to change the clock and a few days later I received a new Skyracer unit . Now I am happy with my watch but, what this has happened to someone the same? How could this happen in a watch of this category?

Thanks to all

Wings are made for flying....the flew right off your dial!! That's a terrible experience but I'm glad you got a new watch and hopefully the wings don't plan on going for another flight anytime soon.

Obviously a quality control mishap. Should have been caught at the factory.

I've never heard of such a thing - ever. Was the first one new or pre-owned? I had read once they are fastened to the dial - not just glued on. Don't let it be a reflection on the model or the brand - it's a very bizarre occurance.

BUT most importantly, what dial color did you get?? How about some pics?

It was a first one brand new unit. In the dial (white) it could seen what appeared to be a couple of tiny rivets. I have no picture (now I regret it, if only because of morbid curiosity) because I immediately went to the store. My fear was that, being under guaranty, they propose to fix the watch. But I was worried of having a new watch with its mechanism manipulated and fixed just after three days of use. But I did not need to force the change. The store immediately withdrew the clock and proceeded to request a new unit to Breitling. One week later I received the new unit.

They have two 'feet' that go through the dial, it couldn't have been pressed in properly during production and wasn't picked up in quality control. Sorry it happened, but glad that they sorted it out.

A Breitling is a production watch. It is made in a factory (or whatever fancy term you want to use) along with many other Breitlings. It is inevitable that some products produced in this fashion will be fautly, and will get through quality control, even if it's very few. The only way you can get a product you're totally sure of is if a guy custom crafts it for you and hands it to you when he's done testing.
