I will be sad even if I have only had it a few weeks, but the all Ti version is staying and being worn everyday so far....

Best regards David

Glad you decided against the two-toner... I much prefer the all-ti.

Nope, just a serious Ling....as oppossed to those shiney bright things!

Shine doesn't suit me....honest, I don't even wear rings, heaven forbid earrings and bloody diamonds!

Begs the question "Why on earth did you buy the damn thing?"

Seriously, in terms of zero bling, I've got one of these arriving on Tuesday (I hope!)

Incidentally, this also conforms to acceldebt's desire for a fully functional divers watch...even the leather strap is waterproof!

No your right, why did I?

Well I couldn't make my mind up as to which I preferred, so the easy way was to get both.....a cowards way out  and then IF there was one I favoured so much I would "out" the poor relation, funnily enough it was the "bling" version I went against...what a suprise Mr Ling?

But today I am giving my poor forgotten (since the BA arrived) X-33 an outing....even being Ti it feels big and heavy compared to the BA...

I like your new incoming there, very very nice...and although originally a dive watch I don't think it would be really suitable nowadays surely? Much better for withstanding splashes from the bouilebaise, oui?

Best regards David

True (even if that's more a dish from Marseille - here we prefer foie gras... ) but in fact I do sometimes get my hands wet - I wash my car!

However I thoroughly agree with your principle of buying both and chosing afterwards - it's nigh on impossible to chose from a photograph - for me at least - I'm very tactile (!) and have to touch and feel as well as 'see' the object. This said, I bought my last car based on photographs...so what do I know?!

The Panerai is magnificent - very small production numbers, beautifully engineered, slightly (!) retro design, and quite large - this one is 44mm.
It's titanium so therefore very light, and with a brown leather strap this will be hot!

Hmm shut up, your making my mouth water!

I visited a friend in Sete a couple of years ago, she took me for a fantastic meal I am sure it was rabbit with foie gras stuffing.....it was sublime.....yes...with apples to if I remember correctly....roll on lunch!

Yes I think the strap and brushed Ti suit that panny perfectly, a big watch with a very laid back look....nice

Best regards David

Some friends of mine here run a small 'conserverie' - this is where they transform the duck liver on foie gras, and one of their delicacies is quails stuffed with foie gras - fiddly but oh so yummy!

Of course this brings to mind the famous hedgehog sketch from "Not the Nine O'Clock News", and the question "I want to know who it is that goes around stuffing these hedgehogs....?"

Glad you like the Panerai - thought it made a change...

The whole Quail I hope? Which reminds me of a meal one year, we were in convoy with some chaps from PSA on our way from Paris to the Geneva show, we stopped overnight just before Switzerland because thier expenses wouldn't run to Swiss prices  they knew a lovely little resturaunt in Bellegarde....the speciality of the area was whole small frogs  served with just a very very strong garlic sauce....they were amazed when these English heathens actually sat there and matched them frog for frog  ....the funniest bit though was at the end of the meal the patron brought in some goats cheese stored on the kitchens window sill  ....It was beautiful...bloody strong but then again I kill for goats cheese :D the PSA guys wouldn't eat it...we won!

best regards David
