if you have an opinion I want to hear it so have fun!

I have a Navi World with SS bracelet and also a black calf skin bracelet, which I wear on a daily basis at work. Between these two bracelets and the Navi I have almost evey social situation covered, except one...chillin in a pair of jeans and tshirt knocking back a few beers at a dive bar.

I was in Bangkok with some friends last weekend in the above situation and found the Navi to be a bit much for my surroundings so I started thinking "I need a casual sport watch". Thus the journey begins...

In the airport on the way home I started looking at new watches. I actual kind of liked the looks of the Tag Formula 1 with rubber band, but I am not a fan of Tag watches. I prefer another Breitling but am open to other brands and I think I am leaning toward a rubber band.

Given that backgorund, does anyone have a suggestion of a time piece I should take a look at? Since I havent thought much about it until now I am not really aware of all the options so I thought I would ask the forum. This will be the second piece in, hopefully, a collection. I am not concerned about budget right now as I am open to all options...I am just looking for a few starting points.

Almost any breitling with a rubber strap fits the bill!

Well, I don't think you can go wrong with anything in the Aeromarine line! I have owned a Colt Quarz, a Superocean, a Steelfish, Avenger Skyland, and now my second Seawolf. Of all, my Seawolf is the favourite. I also have a 36mm Rolex Explorer I, which can be sporty or dressy, but when I am in the mood for a big, chunky watch the Seawolf is really a winner. Even on a smaller wrist, I think it would work. It is very comfortable. It simply has a great presence as a sports/tool watch, yet I would wear it for just about any occasion. It is exremely well finished.
Having said that, the smaller Colt models are great as well. Unfortunately, the Superocean is discontinued in favour of the new Superocean II (Abyss), it really had a beautiful dial in all colours.
I agree with you about the Tag watches. I was at my AD yesterday, and they are in the next display case to the Breitlings. I had a good look at the divers, and there are a couple I really rather like, but they just don't seem to measure up to the Breitlings. I find the Aeromarine models extremely good bang for the buck. I suppose that sounds laughable, if you consider $3600 a good value, though! Most times the ADs will discount 20-25% in my experience.
My next choice after the Breitling would be the Rolex Sumariner models. My particular favourite is the No Date model. The other Subs were updated this year, but the No Date 14060 is apparently going to remain unchanged. It is a fantastic sports watch, and it even retains the old lug holes, which makes it great for changing the strap! It is definitely one on my wish list. However, here in Canada, it's over $6000, so I won't be able to get one any time soon.
After the Sub No Date, is the new Sub-C (Ceramic bezel). It is probably one of the ultimate sports watches to Rolex lovers. Then the Rolex DSSD (Deep Sea Dweller), a beautiful sports watch as well.
To me, when it comes to a sports watch, only Breitling and Rolex can keep me happy.
Cheers,
Carl

The new SuperOcean is one of the sportiest looking things I can think of. I tried one on last week... pretty much because it was in the store and so was I, and I was honestly taken aback by how much I liked it. The black bezel with big numbers and inner band is very sporty looking IMO, especially as FEAR said, on the rubber strap.

Also love the Airwolf Raven, although that might be a bit too attention-grabbing for what you have in mind.

Outside of Breitling, my pref would be Tags...

Sharkman that looks just like my daily worn watch! Well except that yours looks like new and mine has a lot of beauty marks!! :)

Great watch. I vote Steelfish 1000%. There just isnt a better value in a swiss made diver, IMO.

And what do you think about the Steelfish Sharkie?

I was thinking of getting one with a blue dial dial on rubber. Before it is dicontinued

My Planet Ocean is always my go-to watch when I want a 'sporty' watch. I have even found myself wearing it to work since the rubber strap looks like it is a leather strap...looks great with a suit...so it serves double duty for me. I enjoy this watch tremendously, it's the olympic model but and the olympic rings don't dominate the dial...they're only found on the seconds hand. It has Omega's vintage logo at 12 oclock and I like the railroad rings around the chrono dials.

Planet Ocean on rubber could hit the spot.

I guess it depends on the price point that you are in, however as stated before anything from the Aeromarine line is worth a look. As for other brands, Omega, Rolex are worth a look.

Another interesting watch is a Seiko diver with some Yao mods. Cheeap and cheerful.

Cheers
