Post subject:  Open questions to the "B"-hive...which would you choose?

Any thoughts on a future purchase for me would be greatly appreciated...
Currently own a BE Blackbird and an Airwolf Raven (both purchased in 2010) and now looking along the lines of a Breitling Super Ocean II, Steelfish or S/S Seawolf to round out my B-Ling 3-some; which would you choose and why? What are your thoughts on Pros and Cons to each? Considering there is only a couple of hundred $$ difference in price point, I have a 7.5" in wrist, have tried each of them on and like all three, but can only choose one for the Christmas wish list. Which would you choose?

Thanks in advance,
best regards
Mark

I say SOII or Seawolf, but only because they are the most different from the two that you have already. The steelfish is awesome, but I find that its starting to look a bit dated.
BTW, in my head im thinking of something thats not black or blue dialed.

1. Steelfish Tried and true, "timeless."
2. SOII New and popular with new to Breitling owners.
3. Seawolf Tool watch, big, thick and heavy; the workhorse of the B's.

Even tho i own a Steelfish, I'd go for a seawolf. It'd be the most different to what you have, especially with the arabic dial.

:yeahthat

I agree....Seawolf...or maybe even consider a preowned SOP with a coral or yellow dial. That would definitely change up the look of things in your collection. I love my Yellow dial Super Ocean Pro and it looks great on my 7.75" wrist...will provide wrist shot tomorrow. In fact I like my Yellow SOP so much that I'm contemplating a Coral one now. :plot: The bonus on that is you could save some $$ to put towards a 4th addition down the road. :woohoo:

Given your three choices I'd go with the Steelfish first then the Seawolf (they're pretty close though and that changes from day to day) with the SOII a distant third.

The SOII does nothing for me, I liked them in pictures but couldn't wait to get it off when I tried it one. I don't like the rubber on the bezel and don't get how there's not a lume pip on a divers watch, not that I dive or anything, just seems like something that would make sense.

The Seawolf is a big hefty rugged watch that you could probably pound nails in with, or use as a self defense weapon. I love it, but sometimes I feel that it might be a bit too thick, still very very cool and I like the options for either arabics or batons and the different dial options. Looks amazing on the DPII or the OR, but I find it a bit too flashy on the bracelet for a tool type watch.

The Steelfish in my opinion is as close to perfect for a sporty watch as you can get. It's rugged but can easily be dressed up or down, the only downside to me is the limited dial options, but they all look great so that's not too big of an issue. A blue dial Steelfish on an OR is quickly moving up my list as a next watch purchase, but who knows, I might just get an Omega PO and screw everything up.

Something like this? Otherwise, since you already have a SQ, the blue or white steelfish would be a great fit IMO.

That BEB is sick!!!! I dont know if I would ever take it off, but given the question I would say the seawolf on bracelet would be a great addition to the crew.

Had an SOII but i didn't warm to it but that's just me, it didn't feel Breitling, an Avenger would be my next choice for you although i bought a Montbrillant Edition and love it.

1. Steelfish

3. Seawolf

And very last....

2. SOII

Good luck with your choice.

One option for you could be try around for the SOI. There can be great discounts to be got on them and put the money saved towards you next purchase!!!

Lot's of opinions. OK, here's mine - white dial Steelfish on "gold" croco or calf or yellow dial Seawolf on bracelet. The cream/white/silver SF dial is nice and the gold strap makes for a great look. You pretty much have the blues and blacks wrapped up already. Same reason the yellow Seawolf might add flavor to the lineup. And looks like a bracelet would be a nice addition. You have a rubber bezel already - SOII is out.

Take it FWIW form a guy who has pretty much violated all logic above.

My wrist is also 7.5", I have a Blackbird as well, and my choice was to go bigger and polished so picked up a SA. For those choices it's a no-brainer to me.... definitely the Seawolf. The bracelet will be nice to add to the mix if you wear them.

IMO, Steelfish and Seawolf are not that far apart.

Seawolf is bigger and a little heavier and with a 3'000m resistance compared to the 2'000 of the Steelfish but they use the same Calibre Breitling 17.

And if you want to move away from your current black dials, you might want to consider the silver dial for the Steelfish or the Stratus Silver of the Avenger. And that would be better in leather IMO. Just try the configurator on the Breitling site, they've just changed it and it works like a charm, it will give you an idea of the possibilities.

But the SO II is not my cup of tea.
