So before I left the office yesterday I decided to set my watch to the Atomic Clock Gov. website. At just about 24hrs later -20 seconds!! Holy $hit. I knew it was about -6 per day consistently(aka: almost a minute a week) but glad I decided to test it again because -20 is unheard of! Looks like when I buy my Navi in a few months I will give Govbergs my Evo for regulating. I would feel to naked with out a watch ya know? ![]() How can it get this bad? |

Ambient temperature and amount of power the timepiece has in reserve could effect your performance. ~Brian |

My watch is always on my wrist probably 18 hrs a day so I would think that it is always fully wound. what way should I lay it down. I've read that before but every watch is different I thought? |

When was it last serviced? I have read that when a COSC watch starts going out of COSC that usually means that it is time for a service. |

Not really an 'ideal' way to lay it down, just different ways have different impacts. If you lay a watch on it's back then it will run faster than if you lay it on its side, crown up. -20 seconds in a single 24 hour period is not really menaingful data - -20 every day for a week becomes more meaningful and then it may well be an indication of a service, or it may simply be a slight knock that needs a simple regulation (especially if it remains consistent). |

Regulating a watch movement is science plus art. No movement will track a straight line in all positions. Typically, the positions where the balance staff pivot is in contact with the cap jewel (dial up and dial down) result in a slightly faster rate. The additional friction reduces the balance motion. The primary postion of the watch should be the prime position of adjustment. A lot of this has to do with how sedentary the owner is and the postion the watch is in most of the time. My Navitimer is running about +6 seconds a day. I have no plans to regulate it or send it to BUSA. |

Hey Guy's, I haven't been around in a while and this thread caught my eye. I got a Bucherer Patravi Traveltech GMT last year and about a month ago it started FLYING fast. If I set it on the dresser next to my Bentley, in the morning it would be a whole hour faster than the Bentley just overnight. I took it in yesterday and the watchmaker opened it up and found a tiny screw that came loose and was actually flopping around inside the watch. I'll have it back in a couple of weeks, he's doing a full service job on it. Hello admin, Roff and Driver 8 how's it going ? |

Strange - Bucherer is usually very good on quality control - I was expecting you to say that it was magnetized. Good to see you back Ling man, hope it's been a better year for you. |

Roff, Until just recently it has been tough with the economy as it is but I got things straightened out and things are coming along. That's why I'm back, I'm getting back to normal. I'm starting to consider another Ling at some point. I have to replace those ones that got legs that night last year I'm sure you remember. I'll be checking in now more regularly. After I get the Bucherer back I have to drop off my Bentley because the date function isn't working. I think I may have used the quick date adjustment between 8:00 PM and 4:00 AM, it may have been one of those nights where I had no idea what time it was. As far as the Bucherer goes with the quality it's a great watch and this model is kind of like a more sophisticated Super Avenger, it's close to the same size but with a few more bells and whistles. I still need MORE LINGS though. |

Oh Yeah, If I need anything I won't hesitate to ask and maybe we can even stir up some trouble again ! It's been a while. Any word from Sportback ? or did he really just fall into a complete Panerai Psychosis and disappear into Gymnasium Wall Clock Land ? |
