I got the itch for the new Navitimer B01 LE thanks to all the great pictures posted here. I really love the DB and the new movement. It's absolutely beautiful and as Serge has posted here, I may wear the watch backwards just to look at it. I also like the slightly larger size, the applied breitling logo, and the red accents.

I'm just not sure it it's worth the extra money. Right now I can pick up a second hand LNIB standard navitimer for roughly $3000.00 usd. The B01 LE will be roughly double that after discounts and taxes.

What do you guys think.

Your thoughts on the matter would be greatly appreciated.

It really comes down to whether the premium of having a new watch vs. used, in house movement vs. modified ETA and DB vs. solid back are worth it to you - plus the other less significant details.

For me it's a no brainer, I have the LE on order. You can also wait until the in house Navis hit the resale market and save some dollars.

Thanks Roff. Any idea when the non-LE navitimvers are due to come out? And do you know if they'll have a DB?

They aren't likely to have the display back, as that is a feature usually reserved for limited editions. Especially so for Breitling, since they have done very little DBs.

I can tell you that I think the new Navi 01 LE is worth it. The new dial process where they use a real silver dial and print the black on the non marker areas is fantastic. For me it was a no brained. 1st in house movement, DB, 43mm, red date, red chrono hand, applied logo, silver markings from the dial process. It is excellent.

The only real problem is this caliber of watch is making me rethink the collection and I might join Driver8 and others and liquidate the non inhouse watches for higher caliber replacements. Problem is, that means few Breitlings at this time and more" other" brands.

I'm guessing a Basel 2011 announcement and probably no DB. Cost should be slightly less (?). The non LE version is what I'm waiting to see since I'm not a huge fan of a display back with rotor (auto). I would also like an arabic version.

I didn't realize they used real silver. Where did you read about that?

Anyway, you're one of the reasons I'm in my current predicament of lusting for this watch, broncosport. Your pics, especial the wrist shot are great. Your descriptions and reasonings are good also. Are you sure you're not a Breitling salesperson doing so work here on the forums?? :poke:

I have read this on several press releases, so I would guess its true. The dial sure looks fantastic.

No not a salesman, but I guess I should be. I did meantion to the AD that they needed to open a satellite store in Wichita... maybe should run it for them!

Bronco, is the silver dial unique to the LE or will it be used for all models going forward?

Dont know about the future models, but from watchtime.com...

"The dial, available only in black, is made using the épargne process on a solid silver or gold base. This technique enhances the radiance and legibility of the chronograph indicators. The slightly-raised Breitling “wings” logo is executed in gold."

Pete if you have the extra cash then IMO get the Navi B01. Like Roff said depends on what youre looking for. If its just straight aesthetics then you cant really go wrong with the tried, trusted and true regular Navi.

For me it's the Navi B01 all the way. If I wasn't buying a Chronomat 01 LE, and if the Navi 01 didn't have a white date wheel, I'd definitely have one. As it is I'm holding fire until I see the non-LE Navi 01, that (hopefully) we'll see at Baselworld. I'm really hoping for a white dial version as the white wears a little larger, and would match the white date wheel.

Breitling used the épargne process on Headwind as well. It gives a very sharp finish to the dial.

Al-righty, thanks to the "sales tactics" of bronco, :D , I just got back from my local AD. I have my name on a Navitimer B01 LE --- almost.

I negotiated a price and was about to put money down just as the sales lady asked me if I was a 100% sure as I haven't seen the watch in person. I guess the sales are final on a special order pieces. The owner suggested I wait for the one they have on order. They'll put me first on the list and keep the price we agreed on.

I'm super psyched and can't wait to get it. My wife just told me, though, that she'll pick it up so that I can't play with it until Christmas -- that's if it get's here by then.

Anyway, I'd like to thank all the posters here. Even though don't post much, I'm on here "way too much", according to my wife, reading up. You guys helped me negotiate a great price - especially the posts by Roff and Fear. Over the past couple of years this forum has really gained a bunch of great, friendly, and helpful guys.

Thanks again.

Expect it to snow in Phoenix today because I agree with Roff. It's a no brainer for me as well and I 100% totally agree about waiting for one to hit the preowned market and save some cash. As bad as i want one now, I know i can save a ton and get a preowned one next year for a lot less. If the past is an indicator of the future, previous breitling le's have his the preowned market for similar discounted prices as standard models.

EDIT...Pete I just re-read your post and saw that you ordered one..CONGRATS! PM me where you went.
