I'm still hunting around for something to commemorate the birth of our first child.

Can I get some people input on the SOC?

Something about it, the size, or maybe it's a diver with a chrono is bugging me...

Don't you think buying a breitling for a infant is a bit much? J/K

I have a bunch of "other" watches but I can easily say that I love my CSO and it gets the most wrist time by far. It has a great size (for me), legible dial and the Day / Date feature, which most Breitlings do not have.

Considering this is to commemorate your kid's birth, look for some classic and everlasting. Something you can give to him when the time comes. I believe you are looking in the right direction with this watch. This traditional look will never go out of style and when or if the whole "I want to wear a huge watch" trend goes away, this will stick around. The watch is neither too thick nor too wide. Unless of course you're just using this whole thing as an excuse to buy a new watch haha. Then get whatever your eye pleases.

I'm also considering a SOC. How durable are they? Can they take the abuse of everything I dish at it. Is the SOC a good everyday watch which will not be babied?

Thanks,
G

Thanks for the Feedback guys.

I'm not one to think of Chrono functions as directly related to a diver watch. I kinda prefer something more durable. My daily is a Colt Auto II. but the chrono features can be locked down, so it should be durable...

But the size of the SOC seems to be more durable. It's big enough to fit my wrist, but small enough not to look like, HEY LOOK AT ME!

They have a nice black dial with white sub-dials, which complements my white Colt Auto II.

But the bracelets are the same...

Then I see the SO II on DPII w/ Deployant, and I think..... MAN THAT IS SHARP!

Very sporty, great weekend watch, much different than my daily. Missed a BNIB one by 5 minutes on WUS for only $2000!

Then I kinda think if I go Chrono, I would prefer a Chronomat white dial w/ batons... Now that is a classic.

Man I totally can't decide.
