Post subject:  Mag/Aluminum paste for polishing

Hey all, does anyone have any advice for polishing using mothers mag/aluminum polish? I'm trying to polish up my pro 2 bracelet on my colt II. Can you use it on a dremel? Or is it better to just use it with a microfiber cloth and buff really hard. I also have a bunch of cape cod cloth's and thats great for my weekly polishing. The bracelet looks great under normal lighting, infact it looks immaculate but when in direct sunlight or if your looking at the band at a certain angle you can see swirls. Is there anyway to get rid of these sunlight swirls or am I being to nit picky?

See, it looks great under normal lighting

Thanks in advance!

If they are just swirlies, then I'd recommend just using Cape Cods and bit of elbow grease as you don't want to overdo it and take off too much metal.

(And no, in my opinion you aren't being to picky! But then I'm probably odd!! :) )

I have mother's mag polish but never used it on my watches. I'd recommend a fine jeweller's rouge on a buffing wheel... but even then sometimes you can see swirlies in the sunlight.

Thanks for the quick replies guys, really appreciate it! I have been practicing with my dremel and rouge but not getting great results so I don't have the confidence to tackle my breitlings yet. Seems that whenever I use the rouge it leaves swirls worse than when I started. Someone told me that home depot's rouge is crap, so I ordered some from ofrei and am waiting for it to arrive. The mothers polish works very well on a microfiber, with some elbow grease and lots of buffing i've been getting some pretty good results. It is an extremely messy process but seems to work quite well. But still it doesn't get rid of the swirls than can be seen in the direct sun light. But under normal lighting it looks like new

I've used Mother's with a dremel and had good results. I use a small felt wheel and go sparingly on the Mother's. I haven't done it to my ProII, but on another ss bracelet.
