Hey guys, my buddy and I were talking about the best Breitling for $3000 or less USD. Mainly going by esthetics we narrowed it down to the SuperOcean Steelfish and the Colt Chrono. Here are my 2 question: First, for 3K or less what Breitling comes to your mind and Second, of these two watches which do you like? I really like them both, I kinda like the polished steel of the Colt but I do like the automatic movement of the Steelfish. It's a coin toss for me...what do you guys think? Thanks

For $3000usd the first Breitling that comes to mind is a Skyland Avenger. Yes, the retail is over $3000 but if you can land a 25% - 30% (which is quite common) you can get one for under 3k depending on the strap/bracelet choice.....I'd also give serious consideration to the Seawolf since it's within your price range if you're not a fan of chronos.

As for the Steelfish vs Colt I'd take the Steelfish without thinking twice!

You might also consider the Colt Automatic or the Colt GMT. If you want to go bigger, the Steelfish or Seawolf. Don't let the size of the Seawolf scare you. It is one of the most comfortable watches I have worn. Mine has the PRO II bracelet as well, and I believe it is the heaviest of all the Breitling models. Still very comfortable.
The Steelfish, for it's finish and quality is one of the best bargains of any watch IMO. I just think the Seawolf has the edge, with the bigger crown, and you have the choice of markers or stencilled arabics on the black, blue or silver dial. The grey and yellow dials are arabics only. At MSRP of $3600, you should be able to get it for under $3000 with discount.
Happy hunting!
Cheers,
Carl

For me it depends if it's a daily wearer or special piece. If it's a daily wearer I'd go Seawolf or Steelfish. They just have a no nonsense kind of feel. If its a special piece I'd go for something like the Skyland on leather. I think it has an impact that the Colt, Steelfish and Seawolf lack.
