As for my many questions over the last 2 week, finally decided on the watch so did a little calling around for prices etc.

I happened to call my local Breitling AD who didnt have the BB in stock however he personally was selling one (turned out to be the owners son)He said that the watch was immaculate and only worn for a few weeks over summer. I explained that I would want to purchase the watch from the Jewellers and not himself which was fine. Arranged to go today, got there to find that he wasnt. However he had left the watch for me to view.

Well what can I say, the lady just grabbed it from the side and it had just been thrown in a ziplock bag, I honestly thought at the price of the watch they would have presented it with all of the box etc but hey ho. Looked at the watch and on the rear it was actually dirty, marks all over too. To be honest I think that I had made my mind up when I saw the ziplock bag.

She then proceeded to tell me the retail price and the great discount she was reducing the watch by, I honestly chuckled when she wrote it down as I have been offered the watch brand new for considerably less than her discounted used. I was hoping for a nice experience, it took around 2 mins from entering the store to leaving.

I was really disapointed as I would have loved to purchase the watch locally. Rant over now! ha ha

Oh well, on the bright side I have a road trip planned to go to AM Jewellers tomorrow, I am hopefully coming away with a new watch!

Yeah, it can be disappointing when your local AD doesn't seem to care much. I've had similar experiences at my local AD. It's too bad because I'd like to establish a relationship with them for future service, etc.
When I didn't buy a watch the first time I came in they didn't want anything to do with me after that.

Another AD in the area is better but they have little knowledge - can't trust them to get much right.
It's nice to browse the new models at these ADs but in the end they don't have good prices, so off to George I go :D .

Good luck at AM.

The trip to AM will be worth it. Have you checked out the new website, you can have a virtual tour tonight to get ready?

Im from Halifax, I have taken the virtual tour and I am really scared that I may change my mind when I get there.

I was after a BlackBird with black face in brushed. Hope I am making the right choice

That kind of experience is frustrating because (apart from offering a rubbish price) they forget that we spend so much time anticipating the new watch. For me, part of the thrill is opening the outer box... then the inner box... and then the little pouch inside to finally reveal what I've been looking forward to for so long. There's a ceremony to it! These guys hang around watches everyday so they forget the romance it holds for the rest of us.
